Tampans Travel To Orlando For Tom Joyner Weekend
Several Tampans were among the throngs that traveled to Orlando during the Labor Day Week- end for the annual “Tom Joyner Family Reunion.” One of the exciting events was the “All- White Frankie Beverly and Maze Concert.”
Host Tom Joyner welcomed those in attendance and introduced the featured artists. He also announced that he would be in Daytona for the 2018 B-CU Homecoming Parade. He is the Grand Marshal. Homecoming for Bethune-Cookman University is Saturday, October 6, 2018. (Photos by Julia Jackson)
Julian Jackson Joins
Former Bucs At ‘Ring
Of Honor’ Ceremony
Julian Ramon Jackson, a lifetime fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was honored to ‘hang out’ with many of the older players after the Monday Night Football (Sept. 24, 2018) game. The Bucs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During the game’s halftime, former Bucs coach, Tony Dungy was inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. Several of the guys who played for Dungy when he was the head coach were in town to congratulate him.
In addition to coaching the Bucs, Dungy played for and started his coaching career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Julian, the son of Julia E. Jackson, grandson of Mrs. Julia H. Jackson, and husband of Dana Jackson, enjoyed meeting many of the former players post game. (Photos by Julia Jackson)
