The Color Of The Roses
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
During the days leading up to Saturday, February 14th, florists will be overwhelmed. They will be called upon to de- liver that special gift of flowers to that special lady.
While the gift ideas for this special day are not as rigid as anniversaries, it still takes time, effort, and patience to obtain the special day even more memorable.
People often think sending flowers are simple at that. But, that’s not necessarily true. Some roses are colored by nature and others are created artificially.
We have listed just a few of those meanings.
Red Roses —- this color has always been associated with love and romance. It is definitely the choice for lovers. It means, beauty, courage, respect, sincere love, and passion, and “I love you.” The dark red rose also means unconscious beauty.
White Roses —- Symbolizes purity, innocence, silence, secrecy, reverence, humility, youthfulness, heavenly, and “I am worthy of you.”
Pink Roses —- appreciation, grace, perfect happiness, admiration, gentleness, and “Thank You.” The dark pink rose also signifies gratitude, and the light pink means sympathy, gladness, joy, and sweetness.
Yellow Roses —- Signifies joy, gladness, friendship, de- light, promise of a new beginning, welcome back, remember me, jealousy, and “I care.”
Orange Roses —- Desire and enthusiasm.
Peach Roses —- Appreciation, closing the deal, let’s get together, sincerity, and gratitude. The Pale Peach rose sym- bolizes modesty.
Coral Roses —- Desire
Single roses also have their own mean:
A single rose of any color means the utmost devotion. Two roses means entwined together
Six roses signifies love
Eleven roses assures deep and true love.
And thirteen roses means you have a secret admirer.

Love never dies!
From Mom, fam- ily and friends.
Love would never be a promise of a rose garden unless it is
showered with light of faith, water of sincerity and air of passion.
