Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival Financial Seminar And Business Pitch Competition Is Friday
The 20th Anniver- sary Festival teams up with 5508 Co-Working & Collaboration Ex- change for January 10, 2020 "Level Up" Busi- ness Pitch Competition.
The 20th Anniversary Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival (TBBHF20) annual Financial Seminar, Lunch- eon, and "Level Up" Small Business Pitch Competition, powered by TD Bank, N.A., and in collaboration with 5508 Co-Working and Col- laboration Exchange.
The Financial Seminar will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 5508 Co-Working & Collaboration Exchange, Suite 20 (5508 N. 50th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610), with doors opening at 10:30 a. m. The final week offer for the seminar is 2 guests for $20 which in- cludes discussion on Lend- ing & Credit Repair, Luncheon, and Small Busi- ness Pitch Competition. The business seminar will provide participants with the knowledge of building and restoring one's credit and how to build business credit as well. Also, learn about debt consolidation and how it affects entrepreneurs. The commercial lending aspect will teach participants what banks are looking for from
businesses and learn how to better ones chances of being approved for lending to ex- pand their business.
Seminar presenters in- clude:
Alan Borden, Esq., a Consumer Protection Lawyer who advocates on be- half of Consumers in finan- cial trouble for over 10 years. A graduate in Government from the University of Texas and a Doctorate of Jurispru- dence from South Texas Col- lege of Law, Alan handles cases ranging from foreclo- sure defense, creditor ha- rassment, bankruptcy, mortgage modification, iden- tity theft and debt settle- ment.
Robert R. West, Jr., is the Community Develop- ment Manager of Central & North Florida for TD Bank and has been in banking for 17 years. West is also an ad- junct business professor and has an interest in organiza- tional learning, personal de- velopment, and diversity.
The Level Up Pitch Com- petition's objective is to sup- port the development of ventures from ideation to commercialization. The highest-ranking business participating in the competi- tion will receive a $1,000 prize to help accelerate their business, free office space for one (1) year, as well as access to a variety of sup- ports and services offered by the 5508 Co-Working and Collaboration, including
valuable training and net- working opportunities. The contest reflects the commit- ment of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival and Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan, Inc. (THAP) to support inno- vation and entrepreneurship for economic prosperity in
Hillsborough County.
