Pageant Title
PRINCESS ALLEN
... Finalist in “National American Miss” Pageant
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
The family of little Miss Princess Allen is ecstatic and they should be. The 6- year-old has already captured one pageant title. And, she is well on her way to capturing another.
Princess enjoys dancing, singing, doing hair, shopping, fashion, and traveling. And these are all qualities needed by future crown bearers. So, it was a pleasant surprise when a photographer submitted her name for the “Florida Miss” title and she won. She was competing in a photogra- phy contest at the time.
That win made her the Re- gional Representative for the “National American Miss” title. She will compete to attend the national compe- tition on July 28-29. The pag- eant will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando.
The contestants will com- pete in four categories: For- mal Wear Modeling, Personal
Introduction, Interview and Community Service Project. The young ladies competing for titles range in age from 4 through 18, in 5 different age divisions.
The newly crowned “Miss Princess Florida” will win a $1,000 cash award, the offi- cial crown and banner, a bou- quet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national competition.
If Princess wins on this level, she will advance to the national competition and compete with other girls in her age group for the national title. The national competi- tion will be held at Disney- land, in California.
A Tampa native, Princess is the daughter of Ms. Sheresa Allen and Patrick Allen. She has a sis- ter and two older brothers.
Princess is a kinder- garten student at Davis Ele- mentary School. Her mom says Princess was chosen as the “Student of the Month” in March for Citi- zenship.
Princess attends Mt. Tabor M. B. Church and she also enjoys being on the com- puter, playing with her nieces and nephews, and spending time with her family.
Anyone wishing to make a donation so that Princess can attend the functions can contact Ms. Allen at (813) 638-4288.
“We are very proud of Princess and she is so much loved. And we appreciate any- one who wishes to make a contribution to make her dreams come true.”
