Jameis Winston Becomes 8th QB To Break 5,000 Yards
Freddie Kitchens Fired
Entering Sunday’s final regular season game of the year, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Win- ston needed just 92 yards to break the 5,000 yard barrier. In the second quarter of the Buccaneers’ game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons, he did just that.
Winston, the polarizing man-under-center for the Buccaneers joins some pretty good company as he became just the eighth quarterback to throw over 5,000 yards in a single season in NFL his- tory. Dan Marino, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Pey- ton Manning, Ben Roeth- lisberger and Patrick Mahomes have all sur-
not look past – leading the league in interceptions. The Bucs are in a truly divided situation when it comes to Winston and his expiring contract at the end of the sea- son. Nonetheless, no matter which side you are on, what Winston has accomplished is remarkable. Congratula- tions on surpassing 5,000 yards, Jameis.
Bruce Arians: Bucs 'Can Definitely Win' With QB Other Than Jameis Winston
BRUCE ARIANS
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers have a decision to make on their future at quarterback.
Just one day after Jameis Winston completed an in- consistent season in which he led the league with 5,109 yards but became the first player in NFL history to throw for at least 30 touchdowns (33) and at least 30 intercep- tions (30), coach Bruce Ari- ans addressed the team’s evaluation of the passer, who has now completed the final year of his contract.
One question came up during Arians’ season-con- cluding news conference: can the Buccaneers win with a dif- ferent quarterback other than Winston?
Arians, known for mak- ing witty remarks, had a pointed response.
“With another quarter- back?” Arians said Monday, according to the Tampa Bay Times. “Oh yeah. If we can win with this one, we can def- initely win with another one, too.”
Season As Head Coach

passed the incredible mark, most recently Mahomes and Roethlisberger last season.
While Winston leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns, he also has that blemish that some fans can-
Freddie Kitchens will be one-and-done as Cleve- land’s head coach.
Kitchens was fired by the Browns on Sunday, the team announced.
The news is slightly sur- prising considering as of a few weeks ago, a report said the Browns were planning to keep Kitchens. However, the Browns lost three in a row to end the season and finish 6-10, which changed the minds of the front office. As of Week 17, a report said the front office had begun

Investigating Rakeem
As Playoffs Begin
Nunez-Roches Allegedly
It's a good thing the Balti- more Ravens secured a first- round bye by earning the top seed in the AFC, because it'll give them close to two weeks to get healthy before their playoff run begins. By the sound of it, those two weeks might be necessary.
On Monday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh re- vealed that the Ravens locker room has been infected by the flu as the team shifts into playoff mode. One of the af- fected players? Likely MVP quarterback Lamar Jack- son, who was already able to sit out in Week 17 (even though he didn't want to) with the Ravens already hav- ing clinched everything they
Abandoning Dog
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers have launched an in- vestigation into allegations defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches abandoned his Cane Corso on the side of a busy road, where it sat for 36 hours.
An animal rescue group found the dog on December 8, whose name is Jitterbug -- sitting on a Florida road tired, hungry and alone. The dog was also missing some teeth.
Turns out Nunez- Roches is also a dog breeder. Cane Corso's are a form of pit bull.
The animal rescue group took Jitterbug to a shelter and an official there says they contacted Nunez-Roches to say they had his dog. The of- ficial said, "He had re-

The dog was adopted Sun- day.

needed to the week prior. "We do have some guys fighting off the flu, Lamar and other guys," Harbaugh told reporters at his press conference before knocking on wood as he mentioned that no coaches have been in-
fected, at least not yet.
