Offset Sued $47K By Beverly Hills Jeweler
EMI Takes Kanye West Back To Court Over Publishing Rights Dispute
While Kanye West may have salvaged his relationship with King Jesus this year, the same cannot be said about his tenuous agreement with EMI, the record label that has owned the publishing rights to West’s music since 2003.
A tentative resolution forged between West and the British-based conglomerate in September recently fell apart, causing EMI to reopen the contract dispute over the rights to his catalog, accord- ing to TMZ.
The rapper/producer first sued EMI in January 2019, claiming his contract with the record company is a form of lifetime “servitude” (the sig- nificance perhaps being that California, where West filed his claim, has broadly defined anti-servitude laws). But EMI

countersued in March, filing a claim in federal court that West couldn’t break his con- tract because he already “signed multiple extensions for the company to handle his publishing,” writes Pitchfork.
BEVERLY HILLS. CA – Offset is in debt with Los An- geles jeweler Peter Marco to the amount of $47,000, ac- cording to TMZ.
Marco, owner of Extraor- dinary Jewels Beverly Hills, filed a lawsuit against the At- lanta rapper and Quality Con- trol Music boss Kevin “Coach K” Lee. The filings were reported on New Year’s

Eve (December 31).
The suit alleges that in Oc-
tober 2018, Offset bought $110,000 in jewels but only paid $63,000 at the time of the in-store purchase. The popular L.A. jeweler’s legal team sent a letter to the Migos member in early December with a demand for payment, reportedly within seven days. It seems as the debt was still left unpaid.

Assault Charges Against 'Real Housewives Of Potomac's' Monique And Candiace Have Been Dismissed
Charges have been dis- missed in the ongoing legal battle between Real House- wives of Potomac stars Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard.
On Friday, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Of- fice told the lawyers for both women that they would not be pursuing their ongoing cross complaints, People Magazine is reporting.
“Charges have been dis- missed by the Office of the State’s Attorney for Mont- gomery County, Maryland,” Public Affairs Director Ramón V. Korionoff con- firmed to the publication.
Both co-stars were facing assault charges stemming from an incident on Oct. 16, where Samuels allegedly grabbed Dillard by the hair and pulled her down.
Apparently, Bravo cameras were rolling as they’re filming

the fifth season of the hit fran- chise series. Other Real House- wives of Potomac co-stars were present.
Samuels was charged with second-degree assault after Dillard filed a complaint with the District Court of Mont- gomery County in Maryland. Samuels later took legal ac- tion of her own and Dillard was also faced with second-de-
gree assault charges.
“We are pleased with the
final determination by the Montgomery County’s States Attorney’s Office to not pro- ceed against Mrs. Samuels for assault charges brought against her by Candiace Dil- lard Bassett,” Samuels’ at- torney, A. Scott Bolden, told People in a statement after the case was dismissed.
“Consistent with her prior bad acts, offensive words and conduct, and her reputation for physical threats and verbal outbursts on the show, through third party interviews and the review of other evidence, the government concluded not to move forward against my client, Mrs. Samuels,” con- tinued Bolden. “And while the government decided not to pursue my clients defensive claim against Candiace, we are very satisfied that justice was done.”
