Garrett Suspension Upheld; Pouncey’s Reduced
Jim Brown First Player Named To NFL All-Time Team
Myles Garrett met with the NFL this week to appeal his indefinite suspension, but the Cleveland Browns star did not have any luck. Pittsburgh Steel- ers center Maurkice Pouncey, however, had his suspension reduced.
Garrett’s suspension, which will last through at least the remainder of the regular season and playoffs if the Browns make it that far, has been upheld. Pouncey’s had been cut from three games to two.
Garrett will be required to meet with the league at some point before he can be rein- stated, but he will not play again in 2019. His unprece- dented suspension stems from swinging a helmet at Pitts- burgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph and club- bing him in the head with it. Garrett reportedly said in his
The mark of an all-time player in the NFL is dominance during his era. Jim Brown was dominant in his era, cer- tainly, but given what he dis- played in nine professional seasons, it's clear that he would have been dominant in any era.
That is why Brown was announced Thursday night as the first member -- unani- mously selected -- of the NFL

appeal Wednesday that Rudolph set him off by using a racial slur, but players on both sides have said they did not hear it.
Pouncey’s suspension stems from him throwing punches at Garrett and kick- ing him while he was on the ground after Garrett hit Rudolph in the head with a helmet. Steelers fans have of- fered to pay Pouncey’s fine since he was defending his quarterback.
Steelers QB Mason Rudolph Belatedly Fined $50k For Garrett Fight
The NFL issued a total of $732,422 in fines to 33 differ- ent players who were involved in the Garrett-Rudolph fight -- the lowest being $3,507 for several different players "en- tering the fighting area" and the highest being $250,000 for each team.
The Steelers' Maurkice Pouncey -- who punched and kicked Garrett in the heat of

the moment -- has been sus- pended for two games and was
issued a $35,096 fine. As we mentioned earlier, Rudolph got fined for $50k -- more than Garrett's $45k and change -- for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Looks like the NFL isn't let- ting the Steelers' quarterback, Mason Rudolph, off the hook in the fallout from the fight he was involved in with Browns player Myles Gar- rett.
