   NAACP To Host Annual Freedom Fund Dinner

Members of the Hillsbor- ough County Branch NAACP have announced plans for its Annual Freedom Fund Din- ner. The event will take place on Friday, February 1, 2019.
The theme for the event this year is “Vote!” The Free- dom Fund Dinner will take place at the Hilton Tampa Downtown, 211 North Tampa Street, Tampa, 33602. The Meet & Greet Re- ception will begin at 6 p.m., and the Dinner will begin at 7 p.m.
Ms. Yvette Lewis, Pres- ident of the Hillsborough County Branch NAACP said, “The Freedom Fund Dinner, our sole annual fundraiser, is an important event which al- lows the Hillsborough County Branch of the NAACP to continue working with other organizations and businesses to address the needs of our community.

The National NAACP came into existence in 1909 to serve as a voice for people of color. The organization
has defeated hate by con- fronting the critical issues of the day that has threatened the very core of the founda- tion of the nation.
Its mission then and now
is to ensure the political, ed- ucational, social, and eco- nomic equality for all citizens and to eliminate race-based discrimination. It has never wavered in its mission.
