West Tampa Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 In Serious Condition
The deadly shooting took place near the intersection of W. Walnut and W. Fremont Streets early Thursday.

Police have arrested a Tampa teenager and charged him with attempted murder. The teenager surrendered to police Monday afternoon.
Eric Wordlaw was iden- tified as the suspect in a shoot- ing that left an 18-year-old man seriously injured last month. He surrendered to the District 3 District Office around 3 p.m., Monday.
According to police, the unidentified victim walked out of the Fat Boy Grocery, 1345 E. Osborne Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., on October 12th. As he walked away, a teenager walked past him and went into the store. The suspect then produced a handgun, walked back outside the store and suddenly shot the other man twice.
The suspect and a young boy who was with him fled the store on foot. The victim suf- fered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Wordlaw was identified after police released the video of the shooting.

      An early morning shoot- ing in West Tampa has left one person dead and one in serious condition. It was re- ported to police around 7:14 a.m., Thursday.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the 1700 block of W. Walnut in reference to shots being fired in the area. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found two
adults suffering from gun- shots.
One of the suspects later died at the scene. The other was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
A spokesperson for the Tampa Police Department said it is early in the investi- gation and no additional in- formation about the victims or the suspect has been re- leased.
Detectives are currently investigating a fatal home in- vasion. The incident took place on Old Welcome Road, in Lithia, Wednesday night.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Old Welcome Road, around 8:44 p.m. When they arrived they learned from the resi- dents that two men broke into the home, made de- mands, and attacked the male victim.
At that time, the female victim armed herself with a firearm and fired one round, striking one of the men. That man ran from the house, but was found dead. The second man fled the scene.
Police utilized the Avia- tion and K9 Units in an at- tempt to locate him. However, he remains at large.
The male resident of the home was injured and was transported to a local hospi- tal. He is expected to survive his injuries.
The names of the victims or the dead man have not been released. Police also did not release any description of the suspects.
Detectives said they do not believe this was a ran- dom attack. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247- 8200.

Last Friday, a federal judge sentenced a Clearwater man to prison for unlawfully having a gun in a school zone. He pleaded guilty on July 19, 2019.
U. S. District Judge Susan Bucklew sentenced 27-year-old Gerard Graves to seven years in prison. He was ordered to forfeit the firearms and to serve three years of supervision upon his release from prison.
According to court docu- ments, the Drug Enforcement Administration learned that Graves, who is a convicted felon, was attempting to sell a shotgun. The agency used a Confidential Informant (CI), under their supervision, to arrange a time and place for the purchase.

 A 32-year-old Lakeland man has been ordered to serve time in prison for hav- ing a firearm and ammuni- tion. He pleaded guilty to the charge on July 24, 2019.
According to court docu- ments, Lakeland Police exe- cuted a search warrant at the home of Solease Asiman Babb. During the search, de- tectives found a stolen, semi- automatic firearm, nine rounds of ammunition, and various controlled sub- stances, including cocaine, methamphetamine, mari- juana, and MDMA.
