MR. LAMONT KENNERLY
A Sunset Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Lam- ont Kennerly will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Indian Rocks Beach, Gulf Blvd. and 17th Avenue, Indian Rocks, Florida from 4:30 p. m. –6p.m.
Lamont Kennerly, was born February 11, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio. Blessed with a jovial na- ture and good heart, Lamont was respected and admired for his ability to light up a room, entertaining both family and friends through his jokes and antics.
A graduate of John H. Pat- terson High School’s Class of ’76, Lamont continued his edu- cation at the University of Cincinnati, attaining his Bach- elor’s in African American His- tory in 1980. It was during these formative years that La- mont would experience two of the most defining moments of his life. First, he’d meet his fu- ture wife, Roxanne Perry. And second, he’d find his true pur- pose in life — to uplift and sup- port the needs of his brothers and sisters in the Black com- munity.
In the summer of 2015, La- mont was diagnosed with men’s breast cancer; an un- common, but difficult disease to treat in men. Despite a late stage diagnosis, Lamont had the heart of a lion. He didn’t complain, and he didn’t lose faith. Instead, he chose to fight day in and day out to get the most out of every second he had, doing so with the same smile, positivity, and wise- cracks that had given him such a rich and full life right from the start.
On the morning of Novem- ber 18, 2018, Lamont was called from “labor to reward” to be with the Lord.
Lamont Kennerly was pre- ceded in death by: his parents, Bobby A. Kennerly, Sr. and Flo- rence L. Holman-
Kennerly and sister, Adonna D. Kennerly-Mobley.
Lamont departs from: his cherished wife of 35 years, Rox- anne Kennerly; sons, Austin Perry Kennerly and Cameron Marcus Kennerly; brother, Bobby A. Kennerly, Jr. of Day- ton, Ohio, and sister, Shawn R. Kennerly Wallace of Los Ange- les, California. Lamont also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in- law, Milton Mobley, relatives and friends to continue their journeys in his stead —hope- fully with a lighter heart, a pos- itive attitude, and plenty of good humor to go around.
