Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated Presents 70th Anniversary Black & Gold Scholarship Ball
On Saturday, March 28th at the Mainsail Conference and Event Center, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorpo- rated and GZL Educational Foundation, Incorporated presented the 70th Anniver- sary Black and Gold Scholar- ship Ball.
Special guest speaker for the event was Roland Martin, CNN News One Now and
Tom Joyner Morning Show- commentator.
With the theme, “Return to Elegance...70 Years of Excel- lence,” the honorees were:
C. Blythe Andrews, founder of the Florida Sen- tinel Bulletin and the Lily Se- curity Benefit Association. He was a charter member of the Gamma Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
and Frontiers of America Tampa Chapter. The street in front of the Sentinel Office bears his name, as well as an apartment complex. His bust stands among those along the Riverwalk.

Dr. Richard F. Pride is known for his excellence in education. The former princi- pal of Howard W. Blake High School before becoming a professor at the University of South Florida, and ultimately he became Director of the Up-
ward Bound Program. He was the founder of Theta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated at the University of South Florida.
