Two Injured By Armed Suspect In Interstate 4 Shooting
Comanche Avenue Drive-By Shooting Puts Two In The Hospital

Tampa Police report that at 10:45 p. m. Friday, several peo- ple were gathered in the 3200 block of East Comanche Av- enue when a dark-colored vehi- cle drove by and several shots were fired at the group.
A teenager, Alyonia Hardy, 15, was grazed on the shoulder and a second person, Quwan- dre Smith, 19, was shot in the foot.
Both victims were hospital- ized with non-life threatening injuries.
No information was released on how many people were in- side the suspect vehicle.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently in- vestigating a shooting that left two people injured. The shoot- ing took place early Friday morning.
According to a spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Kareen Spann, 20, was driving on Interstate 4 in the area of U. S. Highway 92, in Seffner, shortly after midnight Friday. The vehicle was also occupied by Ms. Antani Lise, 27, and 24-year-old Antonio Diaz. Diaz, who was seated in the backseat, was not injured.
The victims told police that they were driving on the Inter- state when a white unknown make and model vehicle pulled beside of their vehicle. Several shots were fired before

the vehicle fled the scene. Ms. Lise and Spann were both received non-life threat- ening injuries as a result of the gunfire. No additional infor- mation was available on the shooting. However, the inves-
tigation is continuing.
Tampa Police are investigat- ing a shooting that left a 54- year-old man dead.
At 4 a. m. Saturday, George Reyes told police two men who had their faces covered with bandanas, came through a chain-link fence and up the steps of a duplex at 3015 West Chestnut Street near MacFar- lane Park where his brother, Gustavo Reyes Ochoa, 54, lived.
Reyes told police the men had guns and demanded money, but a language barrier caused things to stall briefly. That’s when a shot was fired, striking Ochoa in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
George Reyes told police he learned the details of what happened from his other brother who reportedly was at the duplex when Gustavo was shot. He said they had been sitting on their front porch.

Reyes told police when his brothers failed to give the ban- dits what they wanted one of them hit one of his brothers with a gun. A struggle began, Gustavo tried to reach a golf club behind his door, and as he tried to raise it, he was shot. The two men ran off.
Police do not have a clear de- scription of the suspects, and the incident is being investi- gated.

At 1o a. m. Sunday a 9-1-1 call was received by the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice to report a stabbing and a mobile home fire at 5507 Bap- tist Church Road.
When emergency personnel arrived, they reported finding at least two people with stab wounds and a mobile home on fire.
The victims were identified as Wessley Favata, 25, and Michael Stearns, 23. Both are reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital.
Deputies said Xavier R. Williams, 27, Favata, Stearns, and several other people were standing outside of the Baptist Church Road residence when an argument broke out between Williams, Favata and Stearns.
During the argument, deputies said Williams pulled out a knife and stabbed both men. Everyone present, in- cluding Williams and the vic- tims, fled and scattered to other areas inside the trailer park.
Stearns ran until he met up with Christopher Jud- son, 30. Shortly after deputies arrived, they noticed a trailer on fire. When they arrived at the burning trailer, they found Stearns and Judson. During interviews, Judson allegedly told deputies he intentionally lit a comforter on fire inside his trailer to let them know

At 4:28 p. m. Sunday, Tampa Police officers were called to 925 Henderson at the Tampa Park Apartments, on a report of shots being fired.
Witnesses at the scene told police three Black males fired several shots across a parking lot towards another group of males. A vehicle that belonged to one of the victim was dam- aged as one of the bullets went through the windshield.
Police said three suspects fled and witnesses gave police vague descriptions.
They were described as ap- pearing to be between 17 and 18 years old, all three having slim builds, and one of them was not seen carrying a weapon.
No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.

Stearns was there. He also said he may have had drugs in his trailer before the fire was started.
Detectives said they believe the motives that caused the se- quence of events are the result of illegal drug activity involv- ing methamphetamine.
Judson was arrested and charged with second-degree arson. Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
