2 Schools In County To Play For Region Championships Friday
Hillsborough High and Tampa Catholic High basketball teams are 1 game shy of going to the State Tournament next week in Lakeland.

After Tuesday night’s (February 27th) semi-re- gional boys’ basketball games, only 2 schools in Hillsborough County will continue on.
The Hillsborough High Terriers and the Crusaders of Tampa Catholic High School will be playing on Friday night in 7 p. m. contests. Both teams will play on their home courts.
Hillsborough High (25-5) was able to advance in Class 7A after defeating Spring- stead High (19-10) of Spring Hill, 91-59.
The Terriers, coached by Chris Ward, will take on Mainland High (20-7, Joe Giddens, coach) of Daytona Beach on Friday.
With an opportunity to go to the State Tournament for the 3rd time, the Crusaders of Tampa Catholic High School (25-5) is one game shy of that trip. The Crusaders de- feated Cape Coral Oasis (23- 6), 78-62 on Tuesday night.
Friday night, they will host Oxbridge Academy (20- 8) of West Palm Beach in the 5A contest. The Tampa Catholic team is coached by Don Dziagwa, and Bran- don Strassburger coaches Oxbridge.
In other Tuesday night action, the St. Petersburg High Green Devils (23-5) de- feated the Tampa Bay Tech Titans (21-11) in the 8A com- petition, 79-72.
St. Pete High will take on
Riverdale of Ft. Myers on Friday.
In the Class 6A game, Sarasota Booker (28-2) de- feated Jesuit High (22-7), 71- 65. Booker will host Mariner of Cape Coral on Friday.
In Class 8A, Wharton High (23-5) lost to Winter
Haven (21-9), 68-58. Winter Have will take on Orlando Edgewater on Friday night.
All games are at 7 p. m.
Reminder
The girls of Tampa Bay Tech (26-3), coached by
Reggie Lawrence, will be playing on Friday afternoon, March 2nd, 4 p. m., in the State Tournament in Lake- land. They will be against the girls of Nova High (Davie), 29-1, coached by Jason Hively. Both teams have the Titans as mascots.
