Street Naming Ceremony To Honor COGIC Bishop
City of Tampa will host the street naming ceremony Fri- day

The City of Tampa will host a Street Naming Ceremony in honor of Bishop Matthew John Williams. The ceremony will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, 2 p. m. The street where Brown Memorial sits will be renamed along 27th. Ave., between 23rd St. and 24th St.
Bishop Williams served for 35 years as Pastor of Brown Memorial Church of God in Christ.
Bishop Williams transitioned to his heavenly home on November 27, 2020. He held many positions within the Church of God in Christ. He was a General Board Member, Church of God in Christ, Inc., Prelate, Florida Southwestern Ecclesiastical

Hundreds are expected to gather to share in prayer, and reflections of such an influential leader of the reli- gious and civic community. Words of reflection will be shared by family members.
