‘To Hell With All Your Lies!’ Gospel Play Will Have You Laughing And Crying
‘Walk For Life’ Event On Saturday
Bles’d Productions does it again with its new gospel play, To Hell With All Your Lies! This play will speak to your soul as many of the past plays have done.
When asked how her plays differ from other gospel plays, Dr. Phyllis Tucker-Wicks, writer, producer, and director, says her plays address spiritual warfare at its core.
“Gospel Plays have been around for a very long time, and many of them deal with societal issues and relation- ship problems. Gospel plays presented by Bles’d Produc- tions however, will tell a dif- ferent story. You will see the spiritual elements in bodily form that are around us every day,” she said.
The cast in this play does an outstanding job in mak- ing their spiritual function come to life.
Actress and songstress Jerminique Canon does a magnificent job portraying the spirit of Lust as she en- tices all who come around her. She equally traps men, women and children in her seduction of music, and uses her body and songs as an al- lurement for the purpose of destroying souls. Jer- minique’s rendition of Teddy Pendergrass’s,
DR. TUCKER-WICKS
Turn Off the Lights in this year’s production will leave you speechless.”
Lust is not the only spirit that Satan will be using as an attraction to the dark side. Fear and hate will show up as well. Lucifer, played by Pastor Tucker- Johnson, of Christ Of Cal- vary Community Church, will direct Liar, played by Lance Felton to deceive the masses as a mission to annihilate one of God’s greatest weapons...“Truth,” played by Gaetschaa Marcelin. Liar will create a Hologram room revealed as Helogram in the play, to cre- ate the illusion of truth, in order to defeat truth in a mocked battle.
“Isn’t that what we are living in today,” asks Brandi Allen, who plays a grandma in the mesmeriz- ing production. “The world is upside down. According to scripture, we have to be in the last days.” Dr. Marilyn Loblack of Grace Mary Missionary Baptist Church, couldn’t agree more. She gives a performance worthy of a standing ovation in her role as Maimie and tries ag- gressively to convince her son not to sign a record con- tract with the devil.
When Adria Johnson, teacher at Folsom Elemen- tary, belts out Yolanda Adams’ This Battle is Not Yours in her role as Peace, the entire production will come to a climax and have you shouting in your seat.
Other characters in the play are secured by children, Philip Tucker, III, Rhi- anna Anderson, Ma’lani Carraballa, and Rogenae Lezin.
Jeremiah Wicks, of Bayshore Christian, will captivate you in the illusion of the Hologram room as he performs to Johnny Gill and Al Green.
Another highlighted scene in this room will be the special appearance that the Tucker twins will make together on stage in sync with the role of Lucifer. The play is full of surprises and will keep you laughing and crying at the same time!
To Hell With All Your Lies will be the smashing lead into next year’s produc- tion of Conspiracy Theories Gone Gospel, where Dr. Tucker-Wicks will revive ALL the greats like Whit- ney Houston, James Brown, Michael Jack- son, Tupac Shakur, Aretha Franklin, and Prince! In order for the au- dience to truly appreciate next year’s production, this one is a MUST see!
