Late Comeback Bid Falls Short As Bucs Lose To Chiefs, 27-24
Tyreek Hill Trolls Bucs
For the second straight week, the Tampa Bay Bucca- neers just didn’t have enough to knock off a quality oppo- nent in front of a national au- dience, falling 27-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sun- day.
Early mistakes and costly turnovers dug a hole for the Bucs that proved to be too deep, as the Chiefs mounted a 17-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
A pair of fourth-quarter touchdown connections from Tom Brady to Mike Evans helped the Bucs climb back into the game, as the defense bounced back with a handful of critical stops to keep the game close down to the final seconds.
Ultimately, Brady’s two interceptions were a huge stumbling block that killed otherwise solid drives for the Tampa Bay offense and cost them multiple opportunities to score much-needed points

to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s high-powered offense.
Brady finished the game with 345 yards and three touchdowns through the air, while Mahomes torched the Tampa Bay defense for 462 yards and a trio of scores, with no interceptions.
The Bucs defense had no answer for Chiefs wide re- ceiver Tyreek Hill, who caught 13 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns,

with over 200 of those yards coming in the first quarter.
Ronald Jones, II had over 100 total yards for the Bucs, including an impressive 37-yard catch-and-run touch- down. Evans finished the game with 50 yards on three receptions, including the two touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski led the Bucs with 106 yards receiving on six catches, while Chris Godwin had a team-high eight receptions for 97 yards.
Tom Brady Cuts Press Conference Short After Question About Criticism
TOM BRADY
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers couldn’t complete the comeback Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, and quar- terback Tom Brady didn’t seem to be in the mood for a particular question after the game.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine asked Brady about outside criticism, including a recent statement by a former New England Patriots teammate that Brady needs a new coach in Tampa Bay, and Brady gave a general answer about dealing with outside criticism before walking off after taking just four questions. His entire press conference lasted just two minutes and 25 seconds.

Tyreek Hill had a mon- ster game for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and enjoyed himself during the contest.
After his second touch- down catch, Hill did a back- flip into the end zone. Then with his team up 27-10 in the third quarter, Hill decided to channel Shannon Sharpe.
Hill picked up a phone on the Chiefs’ sideline and said help was on the way.

Into Heated Exchange
Tom Brady is not exactly known for getting in the faces of opponents and jawing at them, but Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones seems to bring that out of the six-time Super Bowl champion.
Brady and Jones got into a heated exchange dur- ing the second half of Sun- day’s game between the Chiefs and Tampa Bay Bucca- neers. The trash talking led to some shoving among other players.
That may not have seemed like much, and on the

surface it wasn’t. Neither player was flagged and the situation didn’t escalate. What makes it noteworthy is that Brady and Jones have a history of butting heads — literally.
Lions Fire Head Coach Matt Patricia, GM Bob Quinn
The Detroit Lions are starting over. The team an- nounced the firing of head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn on Saturday.
The team made the deci- sion two days after the Lions lost to the Houston Texans 41- 25 on Thanksgiving. Follow- ing that loss, Patricia was asked whether he believed he would coach the team in Week 13. He avoided answering the question, stating he was fo- cused on helping Lions play- ers get better every day.
Patricia was hired prior to the 2018 season. The Lions went 9-7 under Jim Cald- well in 2017, but failed to make the playoffs. Caldwell

was let go after that and re- placed with Patricia. In his first season with the team, Pa- tricia and the Lions went 6- 10. Things didn’t get better from there. In two-and-a-half seasons in Detroit, Patricia put up a 13-29-1 record.
Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will take over as interim coach.
