Prepare for an evening full of horse racing, fashion and entertain- ment to support the Tampa Alumni Guide Right Foundation
The time is coming for the men to break out the seersucker suits and bow ties, and women the sun dresses, stylish hats and fas- cinators, and head to Tampa’s TPepin’s Hospital- ity Centre and join the Tampa Alumni Guide Right Foundation for an event that will be the talked about affair of the Tampa Bay area.
The first “Tampa Derby Day Party: Bow Ties, Hats and Bourbon,” will be held Saturday, May 7th, from 4 p. m. to 10 p. m., and will fea- ture red carpet entry, pic- tures and interviews, horse racing on the multiple screens, cigar, hat and others vendors, silent auctions, door raffles and a live band.
Of course, no Kentucky Derby-themed party would be complete without the mint juleps, bourbon and other beverages that will be flow- ing from the cash bars. Fol- lowing the race, stay as the DJ takes over for an exciting array of tunes that will have everyone on the dance floor.
Those invited include a who’s who list of dignitaries

Advance tickets can be purchased on EventBrite at Tampa Derby Day Party.
Sponsorship opportuni- ties are available and dona- tions are accepted. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships to deserving students in the Tampa Bay area from the Foundation.

Tampa Sisters Own Boutiques And Work Together To Honor God
BY MONIQUE STAMPS Sentinel Staff Writer
Diane Levy, PhD, and Brenda Smiley are Tampa natives that love fashion and the Lord.
As children, they would visit their great grandmother in Plant City every weekend. It was their great grandmother, who ensured the girls were in church every week. She was a model of Christian faith and was a big influence in their lives.
Smiley has always been a fashionista, with an eye for design and putting things together. She suggested that her sister, open her own boutique so she could share her talent.
Dr. Levy’s boutique is mainly on-line, with an occasional pop-up shop at her sister, Brenda’s brick and mortar store.
She states, “Not only can I indulge my love for fashion, but I can also spread the Word of God.” Dr. Levy’s Between Us Godly Girls Boutique can be found online at www.betweenusgodly-
girls.com.
Ms. Smiley’s Feelin’ Myself Boutique is also
a place to find affordable and stylish clothing, ac- cessories, and shoes, and a place where she can share the same vision as her sister, providing quality, fashionable clothing with a dose of devo- tion.
The sisters say that between the two of them, they appeal to a wide variety of consumers. While Dr. Levy’s apparel reflects more conservative church and work apparel, Smiley has beautiful party wear and attire for social gatherings.
Smiley has been the entrepreneur of the family, opening her business in 2019 while Dr. Levy opened in July 2021.
Dr. Levy is an educator by profession, teach- ing graduate courses for the University of Phoenix.
The ladies emphasize that they came from the projects, and they can relate to anyone.
Smiley states, “Just because you grew in the projects, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be what-

ever you want to be. We want the community to know this. We got our education and have worked hard. If you are from the projects, you can be a surgeon or an entrepreneur. It just de- pends on you.”
Both women depend on their faith strongly and use their faith as the foundation for their lives.
Located at 401 West Waters Avenue, Suites #A & #B, Tampa, Florida, 33604, Feeling’ Myself is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. The phone number is 813-374-2505. Smiley’s merchandise can also be found online at https://feelinmyselfboutique.com.
Both sisters invite the community to visit their social media on Instagram. Dr. Levy’s handle is @betweenusgodlygirls and Smiley’s handle is @ feelinn_myself_boutique.
