REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) No. O-00817 LANDSCAPING SERVICES
THEA is soliciting responses from qualified firms interest- ed in providing all the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, supplies, insurance, incidentals, maintenance of traffic, mobilization and demobilization necessary to perform landscape, hardscape and aesthetic lighting maintenance services for THEA facilities known as the Brandon Parkway and Meridian Avenue Gateways and the Transportation Management Center (TMC), (collectively the “Project”). The Project area for the Brandon Parkway Gateway is located in Brandon, Hillsborough County, Florida. The Project areas for the Meridian Avenue Gateway and the TMC are located in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida.
A mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference will be held April 21, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the THEA Board Room on the 1st floor of the Transportation Management Center located at 1104 East Twiggs Street, Tampa, Florida 33602. Prospective Respondents are required to attend. Failure by a Respondent to be represented at the mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference and Project Site Tour shall result in their Response Package being deemed non-responsive.
Interested firms will obtain a copy of the RFP Instructions and Submittal Documents and submit a completed Response Package to THEA at 1104 East Twiggs Street, Suite 300, Tampa, Florida 33602. Response Packages are due by 2:00 p.m., May 10, 2017 at which time THEA will publicly open the responses.
Firms failing to submit the required RFP Documents and Forms may be deemed non-responsive to the RFP. The RFP Instructions and Submittal Documents are available through the DemandStar System (www.demandstar.com) or through an email request to Man.Le@tampa-xway.com. RESPONDENTS WHO OBTAIN THE RFP INSTRUCTIONS AND SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN THE ABOVE ARE CAUTIONED THAT THE DOCUMENTS MAY BE INCOMPLETE.
THEA encourages the use of registered or certified SBE firms to the greatest extent possible and requires nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, sex and national origin in its employment and contracting practices.

AND ATTORNEY SPECIAL MAGISTRATES
Opportunities now exist for appraisers and attorneys to serve as SPECIAL MAGISTRATES for the 2017 VALUE ADJUSTMENT BOARD.
An Appraiser Special Magistrate appointed to hear issues regarding valuation of real estate must be a state certified or licensed Florida Real Estate Appraiser pursuant to Chapter 475, Florida Statutes, and have not less than five years experience in real property valuation. An Appraiser Special Magistrate appointed to hear issues regarding the valuation of tangible personal property must be a designated member of a nationally recognized appraisers’ organization and have not less than five years experience in tangible personal property valuation. An Attorney Special Magistrate must be a member of The Florida Bar with no less than five years experience in the area of ad valorem taxation.
Prior to conducting hearings, Magistrates must complete Department of Revenue training. Magistrates will conduct hearings and write findings and conclusions of law. Qualified individuals wishing to serve must file an application on or before Friday, May 26, 2017.
