Voters Re-Elect Mayor, Veteran City Council Members
MAYOR BOB BUCKHORN ... To serve 4 more years

Residents within the city limits re-elected Mayor Bob Buckhorn along with all of the veteran City County members. Some voters will return to the polls later this month to vote in a runoff for City Council District 6.
On Tuesday, 26,977 of the 211,158 registered voters cast ballots in the election for a turnout of 12.78%. A total of 2,592 votes were cast during the seven-day Early V0ting period that began on Febru- ary 23rd and concluded on March 1st.

easily defeated write-in can- didate Jose Vazquez. Mayor Buckhorn garnered 95.91% (24,593) over Vazquez’s 4.09% (1,050).
In District 1, Incumbent Mike Suarez captured 62.13% (15,465) of the votes while his opponent, Susan W. Long, collected 37.87%

was able to gain 50% of the votes in the race. Castellano captured 24.92% (2,014). Maniscalco won 29.06% (2,348); and Toledo col- lected 46.02% (3,719) of the vote.
A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Super- visor of Elections said the candidate must win 50% of the votes to avoid a runoff and be declared the winner.
The runoff election will only affect the voters who live in District 6. There are 29 precincts in that district.
City Councilman Frank Reddick, who repre- sents District 5, and City Councilwoman Lisa J. Montelione, who repre- sents District 7, did not have any opponents and their names will not appear on the ballot.

Charlie Miranda previ-
ously held the District 6 seat. However, he had to vacate the seat due to term limits. Miranda won 59% (15,259) votes over candidates Joseph V. Citro 9.06% (2,344) and Julie Ann Jenkins, who won 31.94% (8,261) of votes in the District 2 Race.
Incumbent
Yolie Capin, won 73.23% (18,145) of the votes against Paul Stephen Erni, who received 26.77% (6,632) of the votes to represent District 3.
Incumbent Harry Cohen, who currently serves as the Councilman for Dis- trict 4, beat out Kent King with 71.24% (6,997) of the

votes over King’s 28.76% (2,825) of votes in the race.
There was no incumbent in District 6, but none of the three candidates: Thomas Castellano, Guido Manis- calco, nor Jackie Toledo
