Dunkirk - Director Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight, Inception) directs a World War II film about Al- lied soldiers (Fionn Whitehead, Damien Bonnard and Tom Hardy-pilot) surrounded on the beaches of Dunkirk by the German Army while they were evacuating. This film was strictly about surviving and being rescued by a group of civilians. Intense action. Must-see for Christopher Nolan fans. Still No. 1 at $104M- U.S./ foreign- $131M- (budget-$100M)- ****
Atomic Blonde - An undercover agent (Charlize Theron/ Mad Max-Fury Road) is sent to Berlin dur- ing the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents. This action packed film started out confusing but made sense at the end. Charlize Theron really brought the pain in this spy thriller. Definitely, not for kids. Really enjoyed the action. Made- $20M-U.S./ foreign- $4M- (budget- $30M)- ****
Girls Trip - Director Malcom D. Lee (Best Man I & II) and St. Pete native Will Packer (Think Like A Man) put together a hilarious comedy/drama about four lifelong friends (Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish) travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. The Mummy - An ancient evil princess (Sofia Boutella) who set out for eternal life is awaken from her crypt beneath the desert by an Anthropologist (Annabelle Wallis) and military soldier (Tom Cruise). The princess brings terror to humanity beyond human comprehension. Can't figure why critics gave Cruise's movie bad reviews., but I'm here to tell you this film was action-packed and creepy. Definitely, not for kids. Cruise got this right by using an Algerian actress (North Africa) as the Mummy. Must-see and fast paced. Enjoyed it. Made $79M-U.S./ foreign-$317M- (budget-$125M)- ****
