SIS. CAPTAIN CONSTANCE MARIE SHAKIR MUHAMMAD
The funeral services for Sis. Captain Constance Marie Shakir Muhammad of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018, was held on Saturday, Novem- ber 24th at 4 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The funeral services were officiated by Bro. Stanley Muhammad of Atlanta, Georgia.
Sis. Constance was born on October 25, 1926 in Mar- shall, Texas to Garrett Stephens and Emma Jackson. She graduated from Pendle- ton High School in Texas at the age of 16 and attended Wiley College and Florida A & M University.
Sister Constance married Lester Horton and from this union Dale Horton was born in 1958 and five years later she received another gift named, Greta Horton.
Sister Constance became a Registered Muslim and fol- lower of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1965 and at- tended Temple No. 47, under the leadership of Minister Hastings Muhammad.
Shortly, after accepting the teachings her dedication and commitment was so obvious that she was given the assign- ment of Captain over the Mus- lim Girls and Training Class in Tampa. Mother Clara Muham- mad, wife of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, visited with Sister Constance several times while they were present amongst us. She briefly served under, Iman Warith Deen Muhammad, but when she learned of the rebuilding work of The Honorable Louis Far- rakhan, she assumed her post as “Helper” and went back to work for the liberation of her people. She never faulted on her word to spread peace in the way of Islam.
During her 53 years of serv- ice to her people, Sis. Con- stance maintained work with Tampa General Hospital as a family services consultant and counselor at the Department of Corrections, where she eventu- ally retired after 10 years of service.
Sis. Constance impacted all who were blessed to be in her presence. She was a loving, car- ing and astute person. She was also a great teacher of women, a perfect example of obedience to Allah (God) and his repre- sentative, Minister Louis Far- rakhan. She loved, the life of a Muslim and displayed it in her actions.
Sister Constance is survived by: her son, Dale Horton; daughter, Greta Muhammad (Robert); 3 grandchildren, Khalif Ponder (Genevieve), Nabeehah (Kalverick) and Naimah Ponder; 7 great-grand- children, Nyeesah, Kameelah, Khalil, Khai, Dahori, Kamaari and Khashad; sister, Marion Glen; niece, Denise; nephews, Oloman, A. C., and Ashantie; first cousin, Alice Moore; cousins, Alise, Kirk, Kevin, Olivia, Dorothy (Kitty) Daniels and family; and so many friends as well as the members of the Nation of Islam.
The family wishes to thank all those who expressed their love and kindness during the bereavement of their dear Con- stance Marie Shakir Muham- mad. May Allah be pleased with her record.

Mom, Daughter Hurt In Crash With Stolen Vehicle

Four men were taken into custody after they were in- volved in a crash that left two others with serious in- juries. The vehicle the men were driving in had been re- ported stolen.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, the incident took place last Saturday. Officers re- sponded to an accident at 18th Avenue South and 25th Street, South.
When the officers ar- rived, they discovered that two vehicles, a PT Cruiser and a Hyundai Sonata had been involved in the acci- dent. The Hyundai, which had struck the PT Cruiser, had been reported stolen.
The victims in the PT Cruiser have been identified as Ms. Mae Speights, 61, who was the driver, was seri-

ously injured. Her daughter,
Ms. Yolanda Speights,
46, was critically injured, po- lice said.
During the investigation, police said an officer had been flagged down and told that a carload of men in a Hyundai had pointed a gun at someone. The vehicle was later observed traveling at a high rate of speed, on 18th Avenue, South. However, it was not being pursued by police.
Police said all four men inside the stolen vehicle have been identified as Carl McKinley, 20; 19-year-old Lazarius Faulk; Jaquez Rouse, 18; and Clifford Washington, 19. All four are facing felony charges of grand theft of a motor vehi- cle. Other charges could be forthcoming, police said.
