Woman Dies In Single-Car Accident
Crime Stoppers Tip Leads To Stolen Van
Armed
   A Brandon teenager was arrested and is facing several charges. He was taken into custody as a result of a tip to Crime Stoppers.
Kephat Milien, 16, has been charged with grand theft motor vehicle; armed trespass on property; carrying con- cealed firearm; minor in pos- session of firearm; possession of firearm during commission of felony; fleeing and attempt- ing to evade police; and pos- session of cannabis less than 20 grams.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies recovered the 2012 Honda Odyssey van and ar- rested Milien and another ju- venile in connection with the crime.
The van was located in the Big Lots in Ruskin. It had been reported stolen from a Bran- don area apartment complex earlier in the week.
Police had observed the ve- hicle on Big Ben Road, how- ever, the driver fled when deputies attempted to stop it.

pulling into the Big Lots park- ing lot at 3048 College Ave East, in Ruskin, where deputies took Milien and the juvenile into custody without incident.
Upon being searched, deputies found drug parapher- nalia on the juvenile along with marijuana and a loaded 9 mm pistol on Milien. The Glock Model 19 was reported stolen on November 4th of this year from an unlocked vehicle in Pasco County, police said.
The second juvenile is not being named as per Florida Law, as he is has only been charged with misdemeanor.
A 51-year-old woman walking to her parked vehicle was robbed at gunpoint. The robbery took place at Tyrone Square Mall.
According to police, the victim, who police are not identifying, noticed a man fol- lowing her. She hurried to get into her car and lock her door.
The man then fired one shot into her car, and shat- tered her driver’s side car win- dow. He then reached into the car and grabbed her purse. The woman was not injured.
The suspect fled the scene in a waiting Saturn. The Sat- urn was recovered shortly af- terwards near 9th Ave. South and 44th St. S. It had been re- ported stolen a few days ago.

A 69-year-old woman died Saturday after being in- volved in a single-car acci- dent. The accident took place on New River Hills Parkway.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ms. Patricia J. Clark was driving her 2015 Volkswagen Passat northbound on New River Hills Parkway. For un- determined reasons, she
drove off the east shoulder of the roadway and struck a large tree with the front of her vehicle.
Ms. Clark was not wear- ing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. She was trans- ported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where she was pro- nounced dead.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

A 22-year-old man was se- riously injured in a single-car accident last Thursday night. The accident took place shortly before 11 p.m., at the intersection of 29th Avenue, South and 37th Street, South, in St. Petersburg.
According to police,

of St. Petersburg, was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition. For undetermined reasons, Mob- ley reportedly drove into the northbound lane on 37th Street, South. He attempted to return to the correct lane when he apparently overcor- rected and lost control of the vehicle. Police said it lost trac- tion with the roadway and began to slide out of control and it left the west side of the street. The front of the Ford struck a utility pole. side of the vehicle struck a large tree on the driver’s side before it came to rest.
Mobley was transported to Bayfront Health St. Peters- burg with life threatening in- juries. He was listed in critical condition.
Police said there were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The investigation is continu- ing.
Young Driver Injured In Single Car Accident
 Woman Riding Scooter Killed In Accident
A woman and her two chil- dren were seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident. All three were transported to Tampa General Hospital, where they were ad- mitted.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Ms. Cas- sandra Marie Spicola, 29, and her two children, Jordan Williams, 5, and 18-month- old Noah Spicola were at- tempting to cross S. Dale Mabry Highway at Wyoming shortly before 6 p.m., Wednesday. All three were struck by a vehicle driven by Thang Phu, 35, of Tampa. Police said they were not in a crosswalk when the ac- cident took place.
No charges have been filed in the accident and the investi- gation is continuing.
A 30-year-old woman died after being thrown from the scooter she was riding. Police said alcohol was a factor in the accident.
According to police, Ms. Julia J. Smith was riding the scooter southbound on M. L. King Street at 8th Avenue, South.
For unknown reasons, at
approximately 1:15 a.m., Sun- day, the scooter drifted to- ward the east and struck a curb. Ms. Smith lost control of the vehicle and was thrown to the ground. She was trans- ported to Bayfront Health Hospital, where she was pro- nounced dead.
The investigation is con- tinuing.
Crossing Street
  Grandfather Sitting On Bus Stop Killed In Accident
 An 83-year-old man and his grandson were injured while sitting on a bus stop in a traffic accident. The grandfa- ther died as a result of his in- juries.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, Santiago Carcamo, and his grandson, Gabriel Oliva 36, were sitting on the bus stop in front of Disston Plaza, on 49th Street, North.
Shortly before 1 p.m., Sun- day, they were both struck by a vehicle driven by Ms. Louise Pequeno, 78, of St. Petersburg.
Police believe that a small white or light-colored SUV
swerved to avoid hitting Ms. Pequeno’s vehicle, but struck it anyway. The contact called Ms. Pequeno’s vehi- cle to swerve and drive into the bus stop bench, hitting both men.
Both men were trans- ported to Bayfront Health Hospital, where Carcamo was admitted with life-threat- ening injuries. Oliva suffered broken bones, but is expected to survive.
Carcamo died later.
The other vehicle did not remain at the scene. Anyone with information about the ac- cident is asked to call (727) 893-7780.
