Donations from the community helped his sec- ond wish come true.
Last month, the Sentinel featured an article on An- drew G., a 16-year-old teen, whose second wish was to visit Disney World, Universal Studios and Busch Gardens. He was in need of at least $3,500 more to make that happen. It hap- pened!
Ms. Angela Small,
founder of A Second Wish by Demetrius, Inc., said thanks to the generous do- nations of readers and those who follow social media, Andrew of Louisiana was able to see his wish come true.
In 2016, Andrew re-
ceived his second heart and was put on dialysis. Thank- fully, the new heart is finally working. His immune sys- tem is still very low which causes him to get sick easily and he is still battling kid- ney issues.
He and his family en- joyed a grand time in Or- lando and in Tampa.
A Second Wish By Demetrius Inc. is a national non-profit organization based in Tampa, Florida, founded in 2008 by Demetrius’ aunt, Ms. An- gela Small, in memory of Demetrius Smith, a gifted and good-spirited child, whose second wish went unfulfilled as he suc- cumbed to brain cancer at the age of 12.

“Learning how to use po- etic expression to give a voice to the stresses of everyday life has been a heartwarming ex- perience," said Dr. Leslie Brown, president of the Tampa Alumnae Chap- ter.
