Super Bowl LV
Company Headed By Educator Will Help With Security During Super Bowl LV
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
An Assistant Principal at C. Leon King High School heads the company that will help with security during Super Bowl LV. Marvin A. Bell and his company, Tampa 2 Security will be working as subcontractors with S. A. F. E. Management. He has been in the Hillsbor- ough County School District for 35 years.
Bell and his 11-member team went to work on Mon- day, February 1, 2021; pro- viding Pre Super Bowl LV security at Raymond James Stadium throughout the
week. His team will take Sat- urday off, as they prepare for the big day – Super Bowl Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. “That will be a long day,” he said.
Bell considers himself as “blessed” to have secured the contract with S. A. F. E. Man- agement. The company’s owner and Ms. LaKendria Robinson, Business Con- nect Director and Commu- nity Outreach of the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, were very help- ful in this venture.
Tampa 2 Security was begun in 2016 at the encour- aging, inspiring and support of his then wife, Jorgie

Franks Bell. Now divorced, he said, she is the one who
really pushed him to start the business, helped him to get started, and continues to en- courage the growth of the business.
A graduate of FAMU with a degree in Criminal Justice, Bell said he has worked with security companies for more than 30 years. Although he has his own company, he reaches out to work with other companies “to make sure I stay abreast of all or any changes and upgrades,” he said. He now works with Vinik Sports.
The business name, Tampa 2 Security, came from one of the Bucs’ defensive plays. “I’ve always been a
huge Bucs fan. Back in the time of Tony Dungy the Tampa 2 scheme was being used by a lot of teams. I said to myself that if I can run my business as tight as the Tampa 2 defense, I’ll be doing OK,” he said.
The father of 5 adult chil- dren (the youngest is a soph- omore at UCF), Bell, 58, is the son of Dr. Ernestine Glenn and Marvin A. Smith of Philadelphia (“a strong figure in my life”). Bell is also a “proud” mem- ber of Omega Psi Phi Frater- nity, Inc. The Tampa native grew up in Carver City and graduated from Jefferson High School.
