Several Officials Invited To Join Community For Juneteenth Celebration Saturday
Reverend Willie G. Dixon, Tampa's Best, and the COACH Board met to make final plans for their 7th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at the Charles Davis Conference Cen- ter, 1002 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd. The event will be held on Sat- urday, June 15th, from 2:30 P. M. - 5:30 P. M.
The event will include music by the famous Mr. Shawn Brown, a musical play by the renowned Tucker twins, Dr. P. Tucker-Wicks, and Dr. P. Tucker- John- son, Pastor. There will be a door prize for all guests, cash give-aways, food catered by Open Cafe, Pat and Archie Williams, and Marvin Knight with his tasty hush puppies, the famous Muslim Drill Team, and a jewelry ven- dor.
All pastors, teachers, school staff, school board members, students, and the general public are invited to
show their appreciation for all that Superintendent Jeff Eakins has done to improve the Hillsborough County School System.
The Committee thanks Mayor Jane Castor for the City of Tampa Proclamation mak- ing June 15th- "JUNE- TEENTH AWARENESS DAY.”
The event is FREE and open to the public so they can hear and understand the du- ties and expectation of our elected officials. There is a say- ing, "My people are destroyed
because of a lack of knowl- edge." There is also another saying, "Ignorance of the law is no excuse if you knowingly or unknowingly violate the law!" All of our elected officials are invited to attend this Commu- nity Awareness Event to give out material and explain some of the issues that help and plague our community.
The Committee has re- ceived confirmation from the Supervisor of Election, Public Defender, State Attorney, Chief of Police, Sheriff, Prop- erty Appraiser, judges, lawyers, former law enforce- ment officers, parents, news media, juveniles, pastors, ex- offenders, and community leaders. Others have been in- vited also.
The City and County Housing Directors are also in- vited to come and bring some of their housing program in- formation and be on hand to explain their various pro-
grams.
There is much misinfor-
mation about Amendment 4, Constructive Possession of a firearm, what to do or not to do when confronted by a law enforcement officer while walking or driving.
The Community Aware- ness Session will break many spiritual, mental and physical CHAINS that keep people in bondage! When the people at-
tend the Tampa's Best and COACH Juneteenth Celebra- tion and Community Aware- ness event, they will be blessed with knowledge and truly be free of all types of bondage in- flicted by the Willie Lynch Theory.
As Reverend Abe Brown would say, "Are you listening?" We will wish all fa- thers a Happy and Blessed Fa- ther's Day!
