Brady Threw For 400 Yards
Bucs Making
With No Picks, Came Up Short
Room For Richard
Against Stafford, Rams-34-24
Sherman?
Tampa Buccaneers super- star quarterback Tom Brady has been playing for two decades, which makes it difficult to do things he’s never done before.
But that’s what happened on Sunday in Tampa Bay’s 34-24 loss to the Rams.
Brady didn’t have a bad statistical day for his first time playing in Los Angeles. He finished 41-of-55 passing for 432 yards with a touch- down. And he also had a QB sneak go for a 1-yard score. But that was not enough for the Bucs in the 10-point loss.
And that’s part of what is so interesting. This is the first time in Brady’s regular-sea- son career — one that spans 304 games — that he’s thrown for at least 400 yards, no interceptions, and lost. Rams Matthew Stafford outplayed Brady with 343 yards and four touchdowns. Aaron Donald stated, "He's playing lights out."
”Anytime you come up short, it’s disappointing,” Brady said after the game, adding that The Bucs “have to be better on offense.”
The Buccaneers will play the Patriots on Sunday Night Football next week.
TOM BRADY
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers have a banged-up de- fensive backfield, and there’s an All-Pro corner still looking for a job.
Richard Sherman’s
track record speaks for itself, and his skill set matches per- fectly with Todd Bowles’ scheme, making him a logical fit for a team primed to re- peat as Super Bowl champi- ons.
The biggest hurdle for the Bucs to clear in pursuing Sherman could be money, as they’ve been tight up against the salary cap since bringing back their entire starting lineup from last year’s title team.
To that end, Tampa Bay just restructured the contract for guard Ali Marpet (again), freeing up $4 million in cap space for 2021.
It only makes sense to reason that the Bucs had a specific objective in mind when making that decision, and considering both head coach Bruce Arians and
RICHARD SHERMAN
Sherman himself have con- firmed their mutual interest in recent days, Marpet’s re- structure sure looks like it was made with targeting Sherman in mind.
The defending champs lost starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting to a dislocated elbow in Week 1, and there’s still no timetable for his return. Fellow second- ary starters Carlton Davis, III and Jordan White- head have been banged up, too.
Tom Brady will Reach
Historic Passing
Milestone In Bucs – Patriots Sunday Night
Game
Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is closing in on the NFL record for career passing yardage, and he’s likely to break it when he re- turns to New England in a week on Sunday Night Foot-
ball.
Brady currently has
79,859 career passing yards, meaning he needs exactly 500 yards to break the all- time record of 80,358 yards,
held by Drew Brees. Through two games this
season, Brady is averaging 327.5 passing yards a game, so if he continues at approxi- mately that pace, he’d break the record in Week Four, when he makes his much-an- ticipated return to New Eng- land to play the Patriots.
The career passing yardage record changed hands from Brett Favre to Peyton Manning in 2015 and from Manning to Brees in 2018, so with Brady poised to break it in 2021, it’s been broken every three years.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid 'Doing Well' After Leaving Arrowhead Stadium In Ambulance
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is "doing well" and "resting" hours after he left Arrowhead Sta- dium via ambulance follow- ing Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
"Head coach Andy Reid felt ill at the conclusion of the game," the team said in a statement. "He was evalu- ated by our medical staff in the locker room, and [as] a precaution, was transported to The University of Kansas Health System for further

evaluation. Coach is doing well, currently resting and in stable condition."
The Chiefs announced that Reid was feeling ill after the game and assistant head coach/special teams coordi- nator Dave Toub spoke to the media in place of Reid.
Shortly thereafter, NFL Network's James Palmer reported Reid has left the stadium in an ambulance for precautionary reasons.
Palmer added that play- ers were informed that Reid should be OK and that they were not aware that Reid was not feeling well.
