56,000+ Attend 2019 Florida Classic In Orlando
The weather was perfect for the 2019 Florida Classic in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. A crowd estimated at 56,351 fans attended the Florida Blue Florida Classic. The largest crowd for the Classic since it moved to Orlando was 73,358 in 2003.
For the 9th consecutive time, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University defeated the Rattlers of Florida A&M University, in an exciting game, 31-27. (Pho- tographs by Julia Jackson)
The game’s Most Valuable Player was Akevious Williams (#10), quarterback for the Wild- cats.

The 14-Karat Dancers of Bethune-Cookman intro- duced their silver outfits for the Florida Classic.
The drum majors of Florida A&M University ‘strut their stuff’ on the field.
This family of Rattlers was there to support their team: Keith Rhumins, Lydoria Rhumins, Phyllis Tallys, Genetta Brencher and Valetta Comers.
Thaddeus Bullard, Sr., known in the WWE as Titus Oneil, was among those who at- tended the game.
Sisters who are alumni supporters of the school are Birdie Under- wood and Betoria Wat- son.
The 2 schools were presented a check in the amount of $137,500.00 from the City of Orlando. Shown accepting the check are: B-CU Presi- dent, Dr. E. LaBrent Chrite, Senator Valdez V. Demings, Orlando; Regina Hill, Orlando City Council; FAMU President, Dr. Larry Roibin- son; and Mayor Jerry Demings, Orlando.
