Lamar Jackson Says
David Price Reportedly Being Targeted By Multiple Teams In Trade Talks
DAVID PRICE
The Boston Red Sox have openly said they are looking to shed payroll this winter, and one of the ways they could do that is by trading their most expensive player, David Price. If they do decide to move the left-hander, multi- ple teams apparently have in- terest.
More than one team has inquired about potentially trading for Price. The Red Sox would likely have to at- tach another player to the deal or eat some of the $96 million Price is owed over the next three seasons, but they are open to the possibility.
Gerrit Cole Agrees To Record 9-Year, $324 Million Deal With Yankees
GERRIT COLE
The New York Yankees said they were not going to be denied when it came to Ger- rit Cole, and it seems like they were right.
Cole has agreed to a nine- year, $324 million deal with the Yankees.
The market for Cole was hot all offseason, and his agent Scott Boras indicated Cole would sign this week. That ended up happening, and it comes a day after Stephen Strasburg got a 7- year, $245 million deal from the Washington Nationals.
Cole’s deal blows away Strasburg’s as the richest ever by a pitcher, by $74 mil- lion.
Only Mike Trout ($430 million), Bryce Harper ($330 million), and Gian- carlo Stanton ($325 mil- lion) have signed for more money than Cole. Cole was $6 million shy of Harper’s record for a free agent, and he’s doing it as a pitcher.

As Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens con- tinue to rip through the league’s defenses, you can imagine defenses are just going to respond by just try- ing to hit harder. And possibly lower, if what the quarterback has noticed is true.
Limited in practice with a quad injury for the second straight day on Tuesday, Jackson confirmed he will play in the Ravens’ Thursday Night Football game against the New York Jets. When asked if opponents had been hitting him lower in the last two games, he had some in- teresting things to say.
“Yeah, they have, a lot more and especially when I’m inside the pocket and stuff

like that,” Jackson said.
“When I’m out on the edge, I kinda avoid it all the time. When I’m in the pocket trying to complete a throw, that’s when nine times out of 10 they go for my legs. I can’t do anything about, I’m trying to complete that pass. It is what it is.”
Leon Spinks, the former undisputed heavyweight box- ing champion who in 1978 de- feated Muhammad Ali in one of the biggest upsets in the sport’s history, is battling health complications in a Las Vegas hospital.
Spinks, 66, was appar- ently “fighting for his life” in the hospital, TMZ Sports re- ported Wednesday. It was un- clear what the health issue may have been.
"Leon is currently hospi- talized and in the care of an exceptional team of doctors. We kindly request that pri- vacy be given to his family at this time. His wife, Brenda, and their family would like to graciously thank all of Leon's friends and fans for all of the outpouring support of love and prayers," a family spokesperson said in a state- ment.
Brenda Spinks, the wife of the boxing legend, put out a

concerning message on her Facebook on Monday asking for prayers for her husband.
“Dear Friends: I know it's been awhile. However, you know how I Believe in the Power of Prayer. It's been a tough year for us. Leon has endured a lot of medical prob- lems. I'm reaching out to ask you to kindly pray for my Beautiful Husband Leon. So that he may overcome the ob- stacles that have crossed his path. We Love You All & Ap- preciate Your Support.”

To Appear In 1,500 Games
Fifth Player In NBA History
Vince Carter’s legacy will always be defined by his days throwing down dunks on the league with the Toronto Raptors, but his longevity is becoming impressive in its own right.
The 42-year-old Carter added to that legacy on Tues- day, when — just by walking onto the floor — he entered a club of only five players in NBA history.
Facing the Miami Heat on Tuesday, Carter played in the 1,500 game of his career. That puts him in a group oc-
