Autism Foundation Gives Computers To Deserving Students

During the last week of school, two graduating sen- iors were presented special gifts to help them with their educational endeavors. The laptops were given to the stu- dents by the family of the late Anthony Naiboa, as part of the Anthony Naiboa Autism Foundation.
The recipients were cho- sen by school personnel and were selected based on the obstacles they overcame. The presentation was also a means for the Naiboa fam- ily to give back to the com- munity.
Casimar Naiboa, fa- ther of Anthony Naiboa said, “We created the foun- dation and we wanted to do something before the school year ended. We are doing this in memory of Anthony and we are planning to do more. We want to do some- thing every year to help spe- cial students and in his memory.”

The laptops were pre- sented to the students in the presence of their family members and members of the Naiboa family were also on hand. Among those pres- ent was Ms. Maria Ro- driguez, his stepmother, and his siblings, Karen, Nubia, Guarionex, and Taino Naiboa. Anthony, who was 20-years-old at the time of his death, was the oldest of the five children.
Anthony, who was Autistic, was killed in Octo- ber 2017, after he exited the
HART bus on N. 15th Street. He was walking north on 15th Street in the area of Wilder Avenue when he was shot.
Anthony was the third of 4 victims killed in a 51-day period in Seminole Heights. Police arrested 24-year-old Howell Donaldson, III, and charged him with 4 counts of first-degree mur- der. The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Of- fice is seeking the death penalty in the case.

Howard W. Blake Class Meeting Planned
