Shoot This Sequel
   Paula Patton has been tapped to star in Sacrifice, a BET legal thriller which they have primed for their upcom- ing streaming service, BET+. A two-hour original movie, the film will also serve as a back- door pilot for a possible series on the streamer. Produced, written and directed by Chris Stokes, it also stars Erica Ash and Marques Houston (also a co-producer). The film will premiere on BET+ in 2020.
The project, set in Los An- geles, follows Daniella Her- nandez (Patton) a highly sought after entertainment lawyer. "The legal thriller tracks Daniella as she navi- gates the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients. Iconic Oscar and Emmy winner Cicely Tyson has joined Season 1 of Ava Du- Vernay's upcoming anthol- ogy series at OWN. The casting makes Tyson one of the old- est--if not the oldest--series regular on television.
DuVernay's second scripted series at OWN will "chronicle the stirring ro- mance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narra- tive will unfold to reveal signif- icant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday." DuVernay is the creator and executive producer through Array Filmworks from Warner Horizon Scripted Tele- vision. The filmmaker has an overall deal with the studio.
Tyson joins previously cast series regulars, Alano Miller and Xosha Roquemore. Tyson, who recurs in guest- starring stints on How to Get Away with Murder, will play Miss Luma Lee Langston, a legendary star of stage and screen in decades past. Gently
