Body Found In Lake Identified
Girls Basketball Team Wins District
Police have identified the body of a man found in a lake on February 11th. No foul play is suspected in the death.
According to the Tampa Police Department, police re- sponded to Lake Roberta shortly after 7 a.m. After re- ceiving the 9-1-1 call about a body in the lake, Tampa Po- lice Divers responded to the scene as well.
The body was that of an adult male. His body was transported to the Hillsbor- ough County Medical Exam- iner’s Office.

fied as 25-year-old Anthony Jerrod Edward Brown. The investigation is continu- ing.
The Tampa Bay Tech Girls Basketball Team won its District (8A-9) last week when they played Bloomingdale High, 66-30.
Thursday, the Lady Titans played St. Pete High and defeated them, 59-11.
Friday the Ladies played Plant City High and lost by 2 points, 56-54.
On Thursday, Feb. 22nd, the Titans will travel to Countryside High School in Clearwater for a

Police Search For
Elderly Man Missing
Since Thursday
Police are asking the pub- lic to help find an elderly man. He has been missing since last Thursday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Ansel Hammond, 68, was last seen at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 N. High- way 301, around 4 p.m.
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office said Mr. Hammond is in need of his medications. He was last seen wearing a white undershirt, a plaid long-sleeved shirt, khaki pants, and black and gold sneakers.
Mr. Hammond is de- scribed as having a medium build, stands 5’8” and weighs

any information about the whereabouts of Mr. Ham- mond is asked to notify to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247- 8000.
Police Investigate Murder At Apartment Complex

Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are investigating a murder at an apartment complex. The body of the unidentified man was discovered last Friday.
According to police, offi- cers responded to River Apartments, 5217 Sonora Court, shortly after 3 p.m. When they arrived, they dis- covered the man’s body.
Police said it is unclear how long the man had been dead. However, the cause of
death was violent and the death is being investigated as a murder.
Police further said they had not positively identified the man. Detectives do not believe the murder was a ran- dom act.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with any information about the case is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
