Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon Return To Patriots Practice
JULIAN EDELMAN AND JOSH GORDON
Ezekiel Elliott Unhappy With Jerry Jones' 'Zeke Who?' Comment
EZEKIEL ELLIOTT
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was ap- parently unhappy about an at- tempt at humor by owner Jerry Jones after the team’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams last week- end, his agent said Monday.
Jones was asked a ques- tion about a rookie Cowboys running back's preseason per- formance and whether or not his play gave Jones leverage in contract talks with Elliot -- to which Jones responded: “Zeke who?”
According to ESPN, just in case anyone didn't get the joke, Jones explained himself by saying he wanted the Cow- boys star running back, who is holding out in hopes to getting a new contract, to know he was “cracking a joke at Zeke’s expense.”
Two days later, Elliott’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, told ESPN the “joke” didn’t sit well with his client.
“I didn't think it was funny and neither did Zeke -- we ac- tually thought it was disre- spectful,” Arceneaux said.
Antonio Brown Files
Last week, Braxton Berrios sat atop the New England Patriots depth chart at wide receiver.
Julian Edelman will take back his spot at the top of that list after being re- moved from the non-football injury list and reporting to practice on Monday. He suf- fered a broken thumb in July while reportedly playing catch.
Add that to the news of Josh Gordon’s reinstate- ment and the upside of first- round rookie N’Keal Harry in the mix, and life after Rob Gronkowski doesn’t look all too bad for Tom Brady and the Patriots’ passing game.
Partriots WRs Brimming With Upside
Gordon isn’t cleared to play in Thursday’s preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, but he returned to
Patriots practice alongside Edelman on Monday for the first time since being sus- pended last season for an- other violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.
If — and of course any “if” is a massive “if” here — Gor- don stays out of trouble and on the field, Brady will work with an impressive pair of top targets that includes one of the game’s most explosive re- ceivers alongside the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
Edelman is a known commodity as one of Brady’s favorite targets.
Gordon showed flashes of his former dominant self last season, averaging 18 yards per catch en route to 737 yards and four touch- downs through 12 games be- fore being hit with his suspension.
Reports from Monday’s practice indicate the the 28- year-old is in great shape and could return to form in short order.
Antonio Brown may have returned to the Oakland Raiders’ team facility on Monday after a brief holdout, but his helmet saga isn’t over just yet.
Brown filed a second grievance against the NFL in his battle to wear his old hel- met on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Brown’s new grievance claims that the NFL is “arbi- trarily applying rules,” and argues that he should be af- forded a one-year grace pe- riod to phase out his helmet. It also argues that the “NFL is

unreasonably exercising its management rights.”
His new grievance is ex- pected to be heard by an ar- bitrator on an “expedited basis.”

Floyd Mayweather
Says Pacuqio Rematch
Will Never Happen
Rumors have been circu- lating the past few days that Floyd Mayweather was flying to Saudi Arabia to talk about a rematch with Manny Pacquiao. Despite fan excitement, May- weather took to Instagram to say that the rumor is false and that he has no plans to fight Pacquiao again.
“There is a video circulat- ing that I made 8 months ago about a ‘MAYWEATHER – PACQUIAO’ REMATCH,” Floyd wrote on the social media site. “The truth is, the fight will never happen again.” Floyd also claimed in the post with screenshot evi- dence that he was paid $2.2. million to make a video talk- ing about a rematch. Floyd also stated that the video was

Boxing fans know that
Manny has been chasing a rematch with the 50-0 fighter despite Mayweather flirt- ing with retirement. In 2019, the fighting Senator has taken out Mayweather mentee Adrien Broner and last month beat Keith Thurman in his pursuit of Mayweather.
