Voters eased the law in 2012 to allow life sentences only when the third strike is for a serious or violent felony.
But Oliver was ineligible for a new sentence because he was found with purported gang materials including a book called “Blood In My Eye,” completed by Black Guerilla Family co-founder George Jackson days be- fore he died during a bloody attempt to escape from San Quentin State Prison in 1971.

The teen, according to Sgt. Enrique Garcia, was not only able to save herself,

It turns out that the teen had been reported as a miss- ing runaway from Flint, Michigan, on Sept. 1, 2018. She reportedly went to Chicago, but was kidnapped shortly after and taken to Gary, Indiana. Garcia said, ultimately, she was taken to various cities in California where she was forced into prostitution.
All three suspects are being held without bail on multiple, serious charges.
