Pete Carroll Declines To Discuss Specifics Of Russell Wilson Talks
PETE CARROLL AND RUSSELL WILSON
RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Car- roll would not speak directly about the contract negotia- tions with quarterback Rus- sell Wilson, but Carroll did say Tuesday he and Wilson have had good conversations.
When asked the likelihood of a deal getting done worked out before training camp be- gins in late July, Carroll said, "I don't know. I'm not talking about that right now."
Wilson was absent from the first day of organized team activities Tuesday because he attended a funeral in Florida.
Wilson is scheduled to make $1.5 million this season in the last year of his rookie deal. He is believed to be seek- ing a multiyear deal in excess of $100 million.
Carroll was asked how Wilson is dealing with the contract situation.
Willie McGinest Voted Into Patriots Hall Of Fame
WILLIE MCGINEST
Willie McGinest
brought New England three Super Bowl titles. Now the Pa- triots' fan base has returned the favor.
New England fans voted McGinest as the 24th player to enter the Patriots Hall of Fame, the team announced on Tuesday.
"It's humbling to be recog- nized and known in my posi- tion and on the team," McGinest said. "I'm one of the guys that the fans, writers and my peers thought I was that good of a player to be in- ducted."
The versatile outside line- backer/defensive end was se- lected by the Patriots as the No. 4 overall pick out of USC in the 1994 NFL Draft and spent 12 seasons creating havoc on the field for the Pats. After spending his final three seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns (2006- 2008), McGinest joined the NFL Network as an analyst for Total Access.
LeBron James Again Headed To Finals
Stop For Young Boxer
CLEVELAND — LeBron James secured his fifth straight trip to the NBA finals on Tuesday night, extending a storybook season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his hometown team, to which he returned this season after a four-year separation.
That James returned older, wiser and more assured of his immense talents after four trips to the finals with the Miami Heat — and two cham- pionship rings — was never more apparent than in this Eastern Conference finals se- ries against the top-seeded At- lanta Hawks.
It was a four-game sweep, with James carrying a bruised Cavaliers team on his own weary shoulders through the first three games, averag- ing 32.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 10 assists. In the final game, he found some relief,

sitting the entire fourth quar- ter as the Cavaliers cruised to a 118-88 victory at Quicken Loans Arena.
Given the lopsided score, the arena-wide party started while James was still on the court. As the third quarter was coming to an end, most of the sellout crowd rose to applaud the team through the period’s closing seconds. The ovations continued at every stoppage of play until the final buzzer.

Before Cornelius “Dy- namite” Dennard was able to pursue his dream of becoming a world champion boxer, his family said the 14- year-old first must be a world champion in the class- room.
“We all knew boxing was in his blood, and it was something he really en- joyed,” said his uncle, Combo Broadnax.
“But he was told day one that if he didn’t perform well in school, he might as well forget about boxing.”
Not only did Dynamite take their word as gospel, he’s turned out to be an ex- ceptional student as well as championship amateur boxer.
After coming out victori- ous in the Junior Olympic tournament in Atlanta on May 21st, all that awaits him being crowned Junior Olympic champion is victory
in the National Junior Olympic Tournament in West Virginia on June 8th.
“We all think this is a great opportunity for him to get on the Olympic team,” said Combo.
“He’s very mature for a young teenager and has stayed focused during his travels all over the world competing.”
Combo said the tourna- ment in West Virginia will be for 5 days, and he’s trying to find sponsors to help with the expense of getting Dy- namite to that tournament.
“To compete in the Jun- ior Olympic tournament you must be able to afford your own traveling expenses and anything else that comes up. There is no fund that exists with the Junior Olympic group that pays any ex- penses for the competitors.”
Combo asks anyone in- terested in seeing his nephew become a champion, to please call him at (813) 381-1555.
LeBron James Becomes 1st
Player To Make 5 Straight
NBA Finals Since Bill Russell
LeBron James just did something nobody has done in 50 years.
With the Cleveland Cava- liers' Eastern Conference Fi- nals win over the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James clinched a bid to the NBA Fi- nals for the fifth straight year.
Only 10 players in NBA history have been to the NBA Finals in five straight seasons. Eight of them played on the Boston Celtics in the 1960s, and of those, seven are in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a player.
In the 50 years since, no- body has been able to pull it

off. Michael Jordan did it
three times in a row twice, and then retired. Kobe Bryant also made it three times in a row twice. Larry Bird man- aged to do it four times in a row. None of the greats from a half-century of basketball managed to be this good this consistently.
