With National Chicken Wing Day right around the corner, (July 29th), we figured we would get started early on possibly one of the best finger foods ever. The combinations of flavors that can be used in chicken wing recipes are countless and however you like your chicken wings, there are definitely plenty of options. Here are 4 chicken wing recipes that are finger-licking good.
Slow-Cooker Buffalo Ranch Wings
Ingredients:
• 2 lb. chicken wings
• 1 c. buffalo wing sauce • 1 packet Ranch sea- soning
• Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
• Kosher salt
• Fresh chives, for serv- ing
• Ranch dressing, for serving
1) Place chicken wings in a large slow-cooker.
2) In a large bowl, mix together buffalo sauce and
ranch seasoning and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture over chicken wings and stir to coat.
3) Cover and cook on high until cooked through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
4) Heat broiler. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper and pour wings onto them. Broil until crispy, 5 minutes.
5) Garnish with chives and serve with ranch dressing.
Grilled Jerk Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
• 4 Scallions, roughly chopped • 12 whole chicken wings
• 2 tbsp. fresh thyme leaves
• 1 habanero pepper, chopped • 4 garlic cloves
• 2 in. piece of ginger, sliced
Directions:
• 3 tbsp. lime juice
• 2 tsp. ground allspice
• 1 tbsp. salt
• 1/4 c. SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend
• 2 tbsp. olive oil
1) Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a food processor or blender and puree until smooth.
2) Transfer the marinade to a large re-sealable plastic bag with the chicken wings and toss to coat thoroughly. Allow to marinate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
3) When ready to grill, prepare a grill for indirect grilling. Lightly oil the grilling grate. Place wings on the hot side of the grill and grill turning occasionally until charred all over, about 5 minutes.
4) Transfer wings to the cool side of the grill and continue to cook, covered until fully cooked and browned all over, about 20 minutes. 5) Alternatively, preheat the oven to 450 degrees F and preheat a grill pan on the stovetop and char wings on all sides 8-10 minutes. Transfer to the oven and cook until cooked through, about 15 more
minutes.
Ingredients:
• 2 lbs. chicken wings
• 3clovesgarliccrushed • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 2 Tbsp. olive oil
• 1⁄2 tsp. salt to taste
Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl whisk together crushed garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. Add chicken wings and toss to combine.
2) In a small bowl whisk together 1 1⁄2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning and tapioca flour. Sprinkle mixture over wings and toss to combine.
3) Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and place wings in a single layer. Bake wings in pre- heated oven for 40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
4) While chicken wings are baking, whisk together melted butter and remaining 1 teaspoon of lemon pepper seasoning. Once wings are done, brush lemon pepper-butter mixture over wings. Broil wings on high for 4-6 minutes or until skin is crispy and slightly browned.
• 2 1⁄2 tsp. lemon pep- per seasoning divided
• 2 Tbsp. flour or corn starch
• 1 1⁄2 Tbsp. butter melted
Baked Curry Chicken Wings with Mango Chutney
Ingredients:
• 2.5 lbs Chicken Wings • 2 Tablespoon Worces- • 4 Tablespoons Curry tershire Sauce
Powder • 2 Tablespoon Oyster • 2 Teaspoons Pink Hi- Sauce
malayan Salt
• 2/3 Cup Mango Chut- ney
Directions:
1) Place chicken wings in a bowl/zip-lock bag. Season with salt and curry powder. Shake/mix well. Make sure they are all well coated with seasoning.
2) In a separate bowl combine mango chutney, Worcestershire sauce and oyster sauce. Pour it over wings and mix until each piece is well coated in the sauce. Cover the bowl with cling film (or close zip-lock bag) and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (for best results several hours or overnight).
3) Once marinated, place the wings onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Make sure there is enough space in between them. Spoon the marinade over the wings. Bake in a preheated oven (200C/400F) for 25 minutes or until they are cooked through.
4) These wings will come out juicy with sweet mango marinade flavor. 5) Serve with dip of your choice.
