Former Business Owner Shares Her Knowledge With Young Entrepreneurs

Tonya Lewis has been working her heart out for this community for many years. Growing up in an abusive and neglectful home, it would have been easy for Lewis to let her surroundings dictate her life. But that was not the life that she wanted to live. Her inspi- rational story and willingness to help others was on display once again as she taught a group of young men the im- portance of entrepreneurship.
Earlier this month Lewis, who formerly owned Lewis Lawn Care, agreed to teach young Russell Stanley, Jr., and a few of his friends the business of lawn care. Stan- ley is the 11-year-old son of Ms. Earlisha Oates. They

mower, leaf blower, two boxes of garbage bags, two rakes, a garbage can, a gas can, gloves, safety goggles and safety vests.
Next month young Rus- sell, under the guidance and care of Ms. Lewis, will be spearheading a "Lawn Service Camp" with a group of young males in our community. Lewis will lead the camp and one incredibly lucky senior cit- izen will have their yard serv- iced.

Children With A Vision is a charity maintained by Lewis. The motto of the charity is ‘our mission is to provide leader- ship in the pursuit of excel- lence and to create effective learning opportunities for all.’

Ms. Lewis states, “I showed the group of young men important skills, tech- niques, and safety while be- coming a Lawn Care Specialist. After that, we learned to oper-
ate the equipment. The young men had many excellent ques- tions and really retained the information well.”
Afterwards, Russell was presented with a one-man setup of brand-new equipment from Lewis. Included in the package was a brand new lawn
