Two Men Found Dead At Gas Pumps
Jury Convicts Man On Heroin, Meth Trafficking Charges
A federal jury convicted a Georgia man of conspiracy to distribute more than one kilo- gram of heroin and more than five hundred grams of methamphetamine. He is fac- ing a maximum mandatory sentence of 20 years in jail, up to life.
According to court docu- ments, Alexis Hernandez, 52, of Lilburn, GA, will be sentenced on November 30, 2017.
Hernandez was charged in a superseding indictment on April 25, 2017, along with five other members of a Bradenton-based drug traf- ficking organization.
Damien Avellaneda- Hernandez, Gonzalo De- larosa, a/k/a “Gordo,” Glenn Olvera, and Sergio David Gutierrez-Olmos, a/k/a “Chavo,” a/k/a “Chilango” previously pleaded guilty for their roles in this case. On August 31, 2017, Gutierrez-Olmos was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison. The others will be sentenced in the near fu- ture. Francisco Avel- laneda-Hernandez, a/k/a “Flaco,” remains at large.
According to evidence pre- sented at trial, Hernandez was a supplier of heroin and methamphetamine to the

Francisco Avellaneda- Hernandez Drug Traffick- ing Organization, a group with ties to a cartel based in Michoacan, Mexico, and op- erating in Florida, Georgia, Texas, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts.
Between January and Au- gust 2016, law enforcement officers seized more than 20 kilograms of methampheta- mine in the Middle District of Florida linked to the organi- zation.
In addition, evidence was presented at trial showing that Hernandez and others had arranged the transport of 2 kilograms of heroin and 1.5 kilograms of methampheta- mine to Manhattan. Her- nandez was arrested in Manhattan on September 27, 2016.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a double homi- cide. Deputies discovered the bodies early Tuesday.
According to police, deputies responded to the Chevron Station, 7710 Madi- son Avenue in reference to shots being fired. When deputies arrived, they dis- covered two men beside the gas pumps. Both men were

pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the men has been identified as 24-year-old Dremaine Vashaun Johnson, of Tampa. The other man’s name has not been released pending noti- fication of his next of kin.
There was no additional information available at press time. However, the in- vestigation is continuing.
Man Charged With Burglary During Hurricane
The Temple Terrace Police Department arrested a burglar after a brief chase. He is facing several charges.
According to police, at ap- proximately 1:43 a.m., Sunday, a vehicle crashed into the DTLR Clothing Store, 9233 N. 56th Street. The initial report stated the incident was a hit and run. However, when police arrived, they discovered the ve- hicle had smashed through the front of the store and a large quantity of clothing was taken.
Officers located the vehicle traveling west on Busch Blvd., and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, the driver refused to stop. When he reached the intersection of

N. 40th Street and Seward Street, the vehicle crashed into a street sign.
The driver then jumped out of the vehicle and fled the
scene on foot. After a brief chase, the suspect was ar- rested. Police said the vehicle used in the crime was reported stolen. During the search of the vehicle, police found stolen clothing from DTLR Store and stolen shoes from Shoe Moun- tain on Fowler Avenue.
The suspect has been iden- tified as Jonathan Smalls, 31, of Tampa.
Smalls is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail with- out bond. He is charged with burglary of a structure during a State of Emergency, grand theft during a State of Emer- gency, fleeing and attempting to elude police, and resisting arrest without violence.

Man Robs Pharmacy At Gunpoint
Police are currently searching for a man who robbed a pharmacy at gun- point. The incident took place at approximately 9:45 a.m., on September 8th.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the man entered the Express Special Pharmacy, 4111 Henderson Blvd., and demanded prescrip- tion drugs. At some point a struggle ensued between the man and an employee.
The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of merchandise.
EXPRESS ROBBERY
A federal judge sentenced a 51-year-old St. Petersburg man to 14 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of man- ufacturing “spice.”
Fayez Abu-Aish, of St. Pe- tersburg, was convicted of con- spiring to distribute, distribution of, and possession with the intent to distribute a substance containing XLR-11.
Trial testimony revealed that the drug, which is a synthetic
cannabinoid, typically im- ported from China, is applied to plant material to create a smokeable drug often called “spice.”
On March 28th, following a lengthy investigation, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force raided a laboratory in St. Pe- tersburg, where the Abu-Aish brothers were manufacturing the synthetic drugs, using
XLR-11. The agents seized the finished product, other chemi- cals, plant material, and pack- aging materials.
Searches of storage units re- sulted in the seizure of thou- sands of packages containing plants laced with the drug that was ready for distribution. Some of the brands seized in- cluded, “Scooby Snax,” “OMG,” “Mr. Happy,” and “Mind Trip.”
The man is described as being between 35 and 45 years old, about 6’ with a medium build and dark complexion. He has short, black hair and a re- ceding hairline. He was also
