Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay partnered with Home Depot to repair the home of West Tampa veter- ans, Ira and Anthony Cruse. The home where the young men grew up and con- tinue to live is at 1735 Walnut St.
According to Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, the Cruse brothers are among 4 generations of veterans. Ira, who served in the Army Re- serves, is the main caretaker
of his twin brother, An- thony, who served in Viet- nam and currently suffers with health issues.
The brothers’ father served in World War II and their grandfather served in World War I. Ira’s son is a U. S. Marshal who served in Bosnia.
Many parts of the resi- dence were considered un- safe, so the volunteer project would enable the brothers to live in a safe and healthy en-
vironment.
More than 80 Home
Depot associates joined Re- building Together Tampa Bay to install new windows, blinds and exterior doors; paint the interior and com- plete various landscaping tasks.
The project at the Cruse home last month was one of several the partners did for veterans between September 1 and Veterans Day, Novem- ber 11th.
