‘The Turnaround’ Gets 2 Awards At Miami Film Festival

Ms. Robyn Jones recently returned from a red carpet event and awards program at a Miami film festival where her movie, “The Turnaround” received 2 awards. The movie had been nominated for 6 awards.
“The Turnaround” is a faith-based movie about the power of faith.
The movie earned the “Best Score” (for its music) and “Best Feature Award.”
“There were over 600 entries in the festival and we walked away with the #1 award for Best Feature!,” said Ms. Jones.
“I was blessed to be asked to accept the award along with the “Turnaround” family on behalf of my writer, James Hunter, who could not attend. I'm truly humble, honored and grateful to God for this opportunity.”
The group is headed to New York in April for the next Red Carpet movie premiere.
Ms. Jones is a Nurse Educator for the McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond, VA. She has been in nursing for more than 25 years, specializing in Renal Disease as a Certified Dialysis Nurse. In her role as educator, she is Valor Coordinator for nursing students and co- ordinator for new nurses’ orientation. She is

also a consultant for hemodialysis, surgical unit and spinal cord unit.
The Tampa native is the daughter of Mrs. Erma Griffin.
Riverview Attorney Appointed To Land Use Appeals Board
The Hillsborough County Board of County Commis- sioners has appointed Real Estate and Foreclosure Attor- ney Wilhelmina Curtis to the Hillsborough County Land Use Appeals Board. This Board hears appeals of decisions of the Land Use Hearing Officer on special use permits and variances from zoning regulations.
Attorney Curtis is a sole practitioner in real estate / foreclosure and construction law, principally in the Tampa Bay area. She is a former past appointee to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, special counsel to a construc- tion and engineering firm, Curtoom Companies, Inc. and a past employee in the Eminent Domain section of the Office of Attorney Gen- eral.
Atty. Wilhelmina Cur- tis is a graduate of Florida
State University and Florida Coastal School of Law.
Atty. Curtis has been married to Builder and Florida Affordable Housing Commissioner Paul Curtis for over 25 years. He is also CEO of Curtoom Companies, Inc. They have one son, Tomikel Curtis, a graduate student at the University of South Florida.

The Honorable Ronald Ficarrotta Re-Elected As Chief Judge
The Honorable Ronald N. Ficarrotta was unani- mously re-elected as Chief Judge of the Thirteenth Judi- cial Circuit, for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2017. Judge Ficarrotta has served as Chief Judge of the Thirteenth Circuit since January, 2015.
The Chief Judge serves as the administrative officer of the court, and works closely with the Trial Court Adminis- trator, Gina Justice, to de- velop and implement local policy and procedure. The Chief Judge is also responsible for overseeing the assignment of judges to divisions, and rep- resents the judiciary at both the local and state level on a number of committees and workgroups.
Chief Judge Ficarrotta
was appointed to the Hillsbor- ough County bench in 1994 by Governor Lawton Chiles. In 1999 he was appointed to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit bench by Governor Jeb Bush.
Chief Judge Ficarrotta
has presided over Family Law, Domestic Violence, County Criminal and Felony Division cases throughout the circuit.
He currently presides over a General Civil Division han- dling Asbestos cases, as well as the Thirteenth Circuit’s new Mental Health Court.
Chief Judge Ficarrotta, a Tampa native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science de- gree in Advertising from the University of Florida in 1979, and received his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1982. Before being ap- pointed to the bench, Chief Judge Ficarrotta worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County.
