Recommendations For The City Of Tampa
    Municipal Election Runoff April 23rd
 Know The System
Being a leader in a K-12 Public School System, no matter if you are an Educa- tor, Dean, Assistant Princi- pal, Principal, District Administrator or a Super- intendent is challenging, every single day. Being ac- countable for students’ achievement, learning needs, academic gains and safety is the main objec- tive.
To earn an undergradu- ate degree in K-12 Educa- tion, you have to have four years of academic studies. Two additional years of studies to earn a Master’s degree, two years of studies to earn a specialist degree and four to five years of studies to earn a doctoral degree. After all of that, you’re also subjected to earning state subject area certifications, with years of experience and profes- sional development. This is what it takes to make
sure students achieve aca- demic success in K-12 Pub- lic Schools.
Florida State lawmak- ers, before passing legisla- tion that will cripple K-12 Public Schools, for the good of the residents and constituents in the great state of Florida, please make sure you invest the effort, energy and research to better understand the demographic of the stu- dents being educated in these Districts and Schools.
K-12 Public Schools don't have the option to send a student back to their home school like Charter and Private Schools, when he or she misbehave. We have to educate and men- tor the students, in order for them to be successful in their academics and in life.
K-12 Public Schools need the maximum amount of dollars to pro- vide services for students
in: advance placement classes, average classes, ex- ceptional students with learning disabilities, Eng- lish language learners and homeless students needs.
We have to educate, mentor, and legislate wisely and comprehen- sively in order to course correct students away from the correctional facility pipeline and into opportu- nities to further their edu- cation or attain employment in the work- force in the state of Florida.
State lawmakers, if you're not knowledgeable on the internal and exter- nal functions of the Public School System, nor walked the grounds of a K-12 Pub- lic School, attended an in- stitution of higher education and earned a de- gree in K-12 Education, please be mindful of any legislation that affects change in K-12 Public Schools. Please do not write Bills and pass legisla- tion that will hinder the least of students. All stu- dents need to be successful in education and in life.
