 Enlistee With Ties To Bay Area Graduates
An enlistee with the U. S. Air Force has completed all requirements and graduated from basic military training. Airman 1st Class Justin Parker participated in his graduation ceremony at the Joint Base San Antonio- Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman First Class Parker completed an in- tensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and stud- ies, Air Force core values,
physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
He also earned four cred- its toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Airman First Class Parker is the son of Os- haman Parker, of Tampa, and Angela Coleman, of Spotsylvania, VA.
He graduated from Mari- etta High School, in Mari- etta, GA, in 2018.
Birthday Celebration

     Tampa Native Serves Aboard Navy Warship
 MAYPORT, FL – Sea- man Michael Davis, a 2017 graduate of Robinson High School, is currently assigned aboard USS Philippine Sea.
Seaman Davis is a Navy boatswain's mate aboard the guided-missile cruiser. A boatswain's mate trains, di- rects, and supervises person- nel in ship's maintenance duties in all activities relating to marlinespikes, decks, boat seamanship, painting, upkeep of ship's external structure, acts as petty officer-in-charge of picket boats, among other duties.

tioned both stateside and on the high seas aboard surface ships around the world. Philippine Sea is one of more than 60 ships on the east coast of the United States as part of Naval Surface Forces, U. S. Atlantic Fleet.
The ship is equipped with the Aegis Combat System, which integrates the ship’s electronic sensors and weapons systems to defend against anti-ship missile threats. The ship’s air search and fire control radar pro- vides continuous search and tracking of hundreds targets simultaneously.
