‘Birth Of Jesus’ Is Topic Of Young Orator
     On Sunday, December 17th, Anthony Johnson will deliver his presentation of “The Birth of Jesus.” The young orator will deliver his speech at 8 a.m., at St. John Progressive Missionary Bap- tist Church, 2504 E. Chipco Street. Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks is the Senior Pastor.

He is currently an honor student at James Elementary School. In his spare time, An- thony enjoys basketball, foot- ball, the drill team, golfing, and going to the movies.

For the next three years, businessman Marvin Knight will be an integral part of the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Board of Directors. He was recently appointed by the Board of Hillsborough County Commissioners to serve.
Knight said, “I’m looking forward to serving on the board. I’m going to listen, learn, ride the buses, and be- come familiar with the process so that I can be a positive asset for the community.”
Knight said two of his main concerns relate to safety and efficiency. He plans to ride the buses to get a first-hand experience on what it is like to be a patron. He also plans to listen to patrons who share concerns about the transit sys- tem to him as well.
He further stated that he has had the opportunity to visit some of the facilities, ob- serve the process, and speak with some employees.

Businessman Appointed To Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Board
   For the past 13 years, Gary Onzy has operated Bounce Boy, Inc., 5008 E. 10th Avenue. He would take equipment to private homes for special events.
Five years ago, Onzy opened a stationary location for his business. And with that came his continuous act of “giving back.” Throughout the year, he has participated in various events to benefit children and their families.
Some of those events in- clude back-to-school give- aways as well as hosting a Halloween event in a safe en- vironment. Last month, Onzy was recognized by the Tampa Police Department and presented the “Outstand- ing Business Partnership Award 2017,” for his contin- ued dedication and support of the department.

A native of Tallulah, Louisiana, Onzy relocated to Tampa in 1998. After decid- ing to make Tampa his home, he also decided to become an integral part of the commu- nity.
