Let Alabama Serve As An Example
Right now, I feel like I need to give the State of Alabama its props. Instead of embarrassing itself in front of the world by living up to its unflattering reputation of being a bastion of "ass backwardness," it proved that it may have truly evolved over the years by refusing to re-elect a blatantly racist pe- dophile to the U. S. Senate.
To be honest, I didn't think that it could happen. After the 2016 presidential election that gave Donald Trump the White House, in spite of his shady character, lecherous be- havior and in-your-face big- otry, I assumed that most of America (particularly the South) was ready to elect any low-life creep to public office as long as he was willing to cater to white fear and deeply held prejudices.
Surprisingly, Republican Roy Moore's loss to Democ- rat Doug Jones, in a state
that is as heavily crimson as its favorite college football team, showed that this country has the potential to right its course. Jones' victory in Alabama may have been an indicator that not every conservative white face is hell bent on turn- ing back the clock on Civil Rights or is willing to compro- mise his or her integrity for the sake of race, party and politics.
The best part about the out- come of this Alabama Senate race is that Moore's defeat could also be seen as a sign of Trump's diminishing influ- ence. There was a time when Trump's stamp of approval, regardless of how messy, car- ried significant weight on cam- paign trails.
Last Tuesday night the strength of Trump's spell ap- peared to lose a little of its power as voters decided that supporting a child molester was a bridge too far to cross
even if it meant going against their orange-haired hero.
Even though what Jones accomplished in Alabama may have largely been due to the fact that he faced an opponent whose reputation was severely damaged by accusations of sexual misconduct, it still of- fers a ray of hope to those who long for a sense of normalcy to return to this nation's political landscape. Along with ridding this country of another old school racist with the power to make the lives of mi- norities a living hell, it also proved just how much change could occur if people simply exercised their right to vote.
If something like this can happen deep inside the land of Dixie that pretty much means that it could transpire any- where. And, with that being the case, I don't think it's a stretch to say that someone like Florida's Governor Rick Scott should be paying close attention to what could be a glimpse of his own bleak fu- ture.

The Republican Tax Reform Bill Is A Trojan Horse
If 400 millionaires and billionaires told Congress not to cut their taxes a month ago (which they actually did tell them), obviously Congress wasn’t listening.
Knowing that the wealthiest Americans, big busi- ness and political donors would be receiving the biggest tax cuts at the expense of the poor and middle class, these wealthy Americans’ sense of “right” felt America’s high debt and the growing income gap should be addressed instead.
In fact, they asked Congress to raise taxes on rich people (people who have $1.5 million in assets or who earn more than $230,000 a year).
However, there are more worrisome changes hid- den in the tax reform bill that should concern you . . . changes that affect our churches, the environment, health care, and workers.
The bill allows religious groups to endorse political candidates and to remain tax exempt; opens nearly 2 million acres of wildlife refuge in Alaska coastal areas to oil and gas drilling; and removes the requirement that Americans purchase health insurance.
The bill also applies a higher tax rate to employee wages and salaries than to business owners and corpo- rations, spurring a potential move by small business owners to form corporations to take advantage of the 20 percent corporate tax rate which is lower than the individual rate.
Indeed, wage income will become the highest taxed income under the current planned tax reform.
So, don’t look for anymore take home pay than you are currently getting.
You figure it out . . . if possible.
Meanwhile, call and ask your Congressional repre- sentative what else is hidden in the Trojan horse?
Pray In Proximity Coverage
Empowered Greetings. I live in Florida, which is a no- fault insurance state where we are required to have PIP insur- ance. This is important be- cause no matter who is at fault, when you’re in an accident, your insurance company will pay you PIP benefits. The same can be said when it comes to being spiritually covered by PIP.
Spiritual PIP coverage is when the believer prays in proximity to what they are be- lieving God for. It’s a concept that may seem aloof to some folks, but I was always taught that faith don’t make sense. Nor, does your senses deter- mine your level of faith.
Your faith cannot be predi- cated on what you can see, hear, feel, smell or taste with your natural senses. I’ve heard the testimonies of those that have prayed in proximity. Re-
frigerators that stopped work- ing and the believer didn’t have the financial means to get a new one; they laid hands on the refrigerator, prayed in proximity and the refrigerator began working again.
There are stories that needed a new car, but the credit they had – had issues. Yet, they went to the car lot prayed in proximity of the car they wanted and before it was all said and done, walked off the lot with a new car and still had jacked up credit.
There are those who have been sick on their death bed, couldn’t make it to the church house so the Saints would come to them. The Saints would gather around them in close proximity and begin to pray them back to health. Neighborhoods have been transformed by prayer in prox- imity. Believers walk the
blocks praying in proximity over their community.
Your prayer in proximity (PIP Coverage) allows you to exercise your God-given au- thority to bring things from the heavenly realm into the earth. Your PIP coverage releases the grip of the enemy off of your children, your spouse and your family members. Your PIP cov- erage can cause the storms that are raging in your life to cease.
The word of God says that man should always pray.
Based on Biblical stories, we know that as a believer if we pray in faith we can send the word and it shall be per- formed. Whatever it is you need God to do, cover it with PIP. I just believe that God honors bold prayers and that our bold prayers honor God.
They are a testament to how great He is. No matter who is at fault in any given sit- uation, it’s covered under your PIP policy.
