8th Annual East Tampa Tree Lighting Ceremony Planned

Several years ago, members of the community came to- gether for its first Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. This year, the East Tampa Commu- nity Revitalization Partnership, Aesthetics and Beautification Committee will hosts the 8th year the program has taken place.
This year, the event will be held on Friday, December 11th, at the Cyrus Greene Recreation Center, 2101 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd.
Ms. Denese Meteye James, Chairman of the Aes- thetics and Beautification Com- mittee said, the festivities will begin at 3 p.m., and she is invit- ing everyone to join the family- friendly event. Prior to the tree

This year, Ms. Meteye James has invited three spe- cial guests to attend the event. The guest speakers are: Shane Dellus, Manager of the Wal- Mart on East Hillsborough Av- enue, Bob Conigliaro, Vice President of Community Rela- tions for the Casper Company (McDonald’s Restaurant); and State Representative Ed Narain.

The Charmettes, Inc. is a 501c3 tax exempt non-profit civic organization. In addition to supporting cancer research at Howard University and Mof- fitt Cancer Center, the organi- zation provides assistance to local programs, individuals and families.
