A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy struck a pedestrian with her marked patrol car, Friday afternoon. The accident took place on Pennington Road.
According to police,
Deputy Angelique Costa,
35, was driving on Pennington Road and was turning east- bound onto Ehrlich Road when she struck a pedestrian crossing Ehrlich Road. The pedestrian, identified as Ms. Cecilia Plagemann-Dul- cey, 33, of Tampa, was trans- ported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were not life-threatening, po- lice said.
Deputy Costa is a 2-year veteran with the Sheriff’s Of- fice. The investigation remains ongoing.

Drug Trafficking Leader Gets 21 Years In Prison

Judge Charlene E. Hon- eywell sentenced a 44-year- old Duluth, Georgia resident to federal prison on drug charges. He pleaded guilty to the charges in February 2016.
Last week, Isaias Villa, a/k/a “Fish,” was sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methampheta- mine.
According to court docu- ments, Villa began obtain- ing methamphetamine from Georgia in approximately 2013. He arranged for ship- ments of multiple kilograms of methamphetamine to be delivered to others in the Polk County area. He then directed co-conspirators to collect the drug proceeds and transport them to him in Georgia.
On September 3, 2015, Villa was arrested in a Win- ter Haven motel room. He had in his possession nearly a half kilogram of metham-

Pedestrian
A veteran Tampa Police Of- ficer was killed in a traffic ac- cident over the weekend. He was off duty at the time of the accident. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office inves- tigated the accident.
MPO Howard D. Gim- bel, 53, and his wife, Ms. Tonya Gimbel, 52, were riding their 2006 Honda Goldwing motorcycle Satur- day evening around 5:30 p.m., on Big Bend Road and Clement Pride Blvd.
Ms. Lisa Denise Allen,
46, of Riverview, was driving a 2011 Cadillac SUV south- bound on Clement Pride Blvd. Ms. Allen had report- edly stopped at the intersec- tion of Big Bend Road waiting for traffic to clear. When she entered the intersection, she failed to observe the motorcy- cle and struck it with the front of the SUV.
Both MPO Gimbel and his wife were ejected from the motorcycle. MPO Gimbel was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries. His wife was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where she was admitted in guarded condition.

phetamine and more than $30,000. On September 8, 2015, while in the Polk County Jail, Villa was recorded calling co-conspir- ators regarding the delivery of drug proceeds and methamphetamine. An ad- ditional $42,000 in drug proceeds was recovered as a result of those calls.
So far, the investigation has resulted in the federal convictions of five individu- als and the seizure of approx- imately two kilograms of methamphetamine, more than $100,000, and home- made explosives.
The Plant City Police De- partment is currently investi- gating the shooting of an elderly man. The shooting took place in his driveway Thursday night.
According to police, the 72- year-old man pulled into his driveway in the 500 block of Allen Street, about 11:50 p.m. As he attempted to get out of the vehicle, he was ap- proached by three men wear- ing ski masks. The men were riding in what appeared to be a black car.
They shouted at the victim to “Give it up,” as they ap- proached him. The victim ran towards his home to escape the men and several shots were fired at him.
When police arrived, the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was admitted. Police are asking anyone with information about the attempted robbery to contact the Plant City Police Department.

Motorcyclist Dies In Early Morning Accident
During Attempted
Robbery
A 42-year-old resident of Micanopy, Florida died in a traffic accident early Satur- day morning. The accident took place at approximately 3:20 a.m., on U. S. Highway 19 and Colonial Blvd., in Pinellas County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, four vehicles were traveling northbound on U. S. Highway 19, ap- proaching Colonial Blvd., when a 2013 motorcycle, driven by Michael McMa- nis, 42, of Micanopy, Florida, failed to slow and
ran into the back of a 2008 Ford F150 driven by James E. Anqulo, 18, of Tarpon Springs. The motorcycle overturned and was subse- quently struck by a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by Tay- lor Scott Reed, 19, of St. Petersburg, and a 2014 Jeep driven by Ms. Emily Ann Arnold, of Palm Harbor.
McManis died at the scene. No other charges are expected to be filed in con- nection with the accident.
No other injuries were re- ported to the investigators.
