HARMON
MR. MELVIN HEYWARD
A Homegoing Celebration for Melvin Heyward, who passed away August 12, 2021, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at New Palm River Church of God In Christ with Robert Freeman, Officiat- ing, and Apostle Bishop Montel Dorsey Thomas, Eulogist. In- terment follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Melvin Heyward was born December 18, 1954, on John’s Island, South Carolina, to the late Elijah and Sadie Heyward.
Melvin loved working and every morning he would get up and go find him some work to do. At a late age in life Melvin moved in where he stayed with his daughter, Felicia, and grandkids. Melvin enjoyed spending time with family. Every time someone asked him how he was doing he would al- ways say, “I’m Gucci.” Melvin Lee will be truly missed and forever will be in our hearts until we meet again.
Melvin is preceded in death by: his mom and dad, Elijah and Sadie Heyward; brother, Christopher Heyward; 2 sons, Marvin Butler and Corey Free- man; daughter, Michelle But- ler; Wilhelmina, Edith, Johnnie, Geneva, Andrew, Adam, Gerald, Sr., and An- thony.
He leaves behind to carry on his legacy his lovely chil- dren: Melvin Heyward, Jr., Michael Butler (Meme), Sharon Butler, Felicia Butler, Ronald Butler, Julisa Candis (Patrice Candis); grandkids, Michael, Jr., Malik, Makayla, Mi’kayly, Mi’kyla, Karon, An- drew, Krishell, Christopher, Raquell, Janell, Julian, Shanell, Joshua, Jaliyah, Jew- ell, Norreese, Ronald, Jr., Ron- nae, Dezron and many more grandkids, his brothers, Bishop Christopher Heyward, Richard Heyward, Joseph Hey- ward, Eddie Heyward, and Esaw Heyward. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday at Harmon Fu- neral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, Florida, 33610.

MRS. BETTY JANE HOLLIDAY
Homegoing Services for Mrs. Betty Jane Holliday, who passed away on August 6, 2021, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Idlewild At The Springs, 8209 North 19th Street, Tampa, Florida, 33604, with Pastor Edgar Aponte, offi- ciating and Elder Harry A. Scott, Eulogist. The committal will follow the Eulogy.
Sister Holliday was raised in Tampa, FL, educated and graduating from Middleton High School and went on to higher education where she re- ceived her nursing degree as an RN and worked many years in Killens, TX, Rembert and Camden, SC, as well as Tampa, General Hospital.
For the past two years she was a dedicated member of The Covenant Church of Naples, FL; Pastor Trent Cas- tro.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Thomas R. Hol- liday, Sr.; sisters, Thomasina Holliday Williams, Bonnie J. Brantley, Annette Y. Brantley, and Bernadette Holliday.
She leaves to cherish her memories: an extremely loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Mary Lee Carroll Holliday Brantley; 3 daughters, Tonya Thomas-Dawes (Roy), Tampa, FL, Kimberly Washington (Eddie), Monticello, FL, Kat- rina Brayton, (Clifford), Cuth- bert, GA; sisters, Peggy Lundy, Rosemary Nieves, (Felix), Helen Underwood, Val Floyd, (Perry), Brenda Brantley, Pamela Walters, (Brian), Lyn- nette Brantley, Denise Holli- day, (NY), Paulette Holliday, (SC), and Tracy Holliday, (NY); brothers, J. C. Brantley, (Angie), Steve Brantley, Jimmy Holliday, (SC), Tommy Holli- day, (NY), and Antonio Holli- day; grandchildren, Thomas Grady, (Jay), Tia Grady, Joseph Thomas, Fredrick Drayton, Tevin James, Sha- Ron Stone, Benjamin Ander- son, Domonic Edwards, Hershel Hicks, Issac Russ, and James Langston; she has 13 great grandchildren and a huge host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and ex- tended family and friends, near and far. DEACONESS MARJORIE DAWSON LANE
A Homegoing Celebration of Life for Deaconess Marjorie Dawson Lane, who passed away August 12, 2021, will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, Florida, 33610 with Pastor Carl Harris, officiating and Pastor Aubrey Hodges, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memo- rial Park.
Deaconess Marjorie Dawson Lane was a member of St. James P. B. Church under the pastor- age of Rev. Aubrey Hodges.
She was born October 22, 1937, in Brooks County, Bar- wick, Georgia, to Mr. John T. Dawson and Mrs. Fannie Bell Nelson Dawson.
She moved to Tampa, Florida, in her early twenties. She married Deacon Robert Lane, and to this union was born one son, John Wesley Lane.
She was converted in her teens and joined Shady Grove M. B. Church Pavo, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. R. C. Solomon, when she came to Tampa. She joined Greater Morning Star M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. W. L. Wilcox. She was a person with a beautiful spirit.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 50 years, Deacon Robert Lane; son, John Lane; father and mother; 3 sis- ters; and one nephew.
She leaves to cherish memo- ries of her: 2 sisters, Carrie Murphy and Rosie Rivers, Tampa, Florida; 7 nieces, Louise Hill Moultrie, GA, Mary Mur- phy, Lucey White, Linda Ware, Rosa Murphy, all of Tampa, Florida, Mary Williams, and Sally Whitemore, Jacksonville, Florida; great nephews, Wayne Laster, Moulite, GA, James Joynes, NC; and one great niece, Keisha Hick, Brandon, FL; care- giver, Rev. Thomas Heyward, Lakeland, FL; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and friends; and St. James Church family. We will love and miss Marjorie, rest on in Jesus.

MR. R. D. LEWIS
A Homegoing Celebration, at Graveside, in loving memory of Mr. R. D. Lewis, who passed away August 12, 2021, will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida, 33610, with Rev. James Richardson, officiating.
Mr. R. D. Lewis was born March 2, 1937, in Campbellton, Florida, to the late Robert Lee Lewis and Martha Lee Lewis.
He converted at an early age growing up in Campbellton, Florida. After moving to Tampa, Florida, he became a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Rev. Calhoun. He was a member of Usher Board Number One and continued to serve the church faithfully under other pastors of New Mt. Zion, includ- ing the current pastor, Rev- erend Larry Roundtree, II, until his health declined.
R. D. retired as a Ryder Truck Driver, member of Team- sters Local #79. He was a busi- ness owner of many years of The Mine Shaft and Lewis Cash Grocery Store for over 30 years.
R. D. enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted hus- band, father and grandfather and looked forward to the Lewis Family Reunion.
R. D. Lewis was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert Lee Lewis and Martha Lee Lewis; brothers, Willie Lee Lewis, Deacon Odell Lewis, and Kay Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted, loving wife of 46 years, Ida Lewis; son, Rod- erick Lewis (Denysia); grand- son, Rashee Lewis; granddaughter, Nehanda Lewis; sisters, Mary V. Hoover, of Campbellton, Florida, and Lola B. Capehart, of Dade City, Florida; brother, Robert L. Lewis, (Carrie), of Tampa, Florida; sisters-in-law, Betty V. Lewis and Mattie Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, includ- ing a devoted nephew, Christo- pher, and cousins and many loyal friends; goddaughter, Pa- tricia Barkley, and godson, John Harmon.
Visitation for Mr. R. D. Lewis will be held this Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home 5002 N 40th Street Tampa, FL 33610. Friends are asked to meet at Rest Haven Memorial Park on Saturday at 10:45 am. CDC Guidelines with social distanc- ing are in effect.

MS. LOUISE McCALOP
Ms. Louise McCalop was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Al- bert and Elmira Blount in Brooksville, Florida on March 1, 1941. She was educated in the Hillsborough and Hernando County School Systems. As a teenager she worked at Weeki Wachee before beginning her career as a cook at Sears Roe- buck Company and working her way up to Retail Manager over the toy and paint departments.
Ms. McCalop loved children. She went on to retire from Sears and became a teacher at Kings Kids Christian School. She then worked as a nanny until her final retirement. She was a member of Glorious Church of God and Christ under the leadership of Dr. C. L. Kennedy.
Ms. McCalop is preceded in death by: parents, Albert and Elmira Blount; siblings, Albert Blount, Jr., Carl (Jimmy) Blount and Annie Mae Cohen; sons, Ernest (Chico) Smith- McCalop and Ricardo Smith- McCalop; grandsons, Phillip Daniels and Ricardo McCalop, Jr.
