Barack Obama Has Fun Hanging Out With Some Kids In Washington, D. C.
BARACK OBAMA
Trump Lashes Out After Report Bank Found Suspicious Transactions
Well, well, well. We haven’t heard from this guy in a while and he’s definitely a sight for sore eyes that have been forced to look at the orange disaster in the White House 24/7, it seems.
Yes, Mr. No Drama Obama, we miss you madly, which is why we’re thrilled to bring you this feel good story about what 44 is doing with the children these days.
This week, our favorite former president, Barack Obama, delighted a bunch of kids – and one little wide receiver in particular — by visiting the Washington Na- tionals foundation & Youth Baseball Academy in D. C.
He didn’t hold back from showing off his pigskin
throwin’ and baseball hittin’ skills with the youngsters.
He was appointed QB in a pickup football game, and uncorked a touchdown pass. Doesn’t look like it was a tight spiral, but either way, the kid on the other end made a hell of a catch.
Then, 44 stepped up to the plate and ripped a dou- ble in the gap. Probably could have stretched it into a triple ... but he showboated a little running to first.
Obama also delivered a motivational speech to the kids, telling them to work hard and believe in them- selves ... and they’ll do great things.
He added, “I had a blast with all these extraordinary young people.”
But, according to The Washington Post, he de- fended the plan and he said: "It's not that we're cruel, mean-hearted. It's that we are logical. This is common sense. You take care of your own first."
President Donald Trump lashed out at The New York Times on Monday, disputing the paper’s report- ing on his relationship with Deutsche Bank and launch- ing into a broader criticism of the news media.
The president appeared to be responding to a Times re- port that anti-money laun- dering experts at the German bank noticed suspicious ac- tivity in accounts belonging to Trump and his son-in- law, Jared Kushner, in 2016 and 2017. According to the Times, bank executives blocked employees from re- porting the suspect transac- tions to the U. S. Treasury, and one former employee says she was fired for raising concerns about the bank’s scrutiny of certain clients.
In a string of tweets Monday, the president pushed back on The New York Times' characterization of his relationship with the German lender Deutsche Bank.
In a string of tweets Mon- day, the president pushed back on the paper’s charac- terization of his relationship with Deutsche Bank, which has lent Trump's and Kushner’s companies bil- lions of dollars over the years, showing a willingness to work with Trump despite his rocky financial history in the 1980s and ’90s.
“The Failing New York Times (it will pass away when I leave office in 6 years), and
others of the Fake News Media, keep writing phony stories about how I didn’t use many banks because they didn’t want to do business with me,” Trump wrote, kicking off a flurry of posts. “WRONG! It is because I did- n’t need money. Very old fashioned, but true. When you don’t need or want money, you don’t need or want banks. Banks have al- ways been available to me, they want to make money.”
Maxine Waters Rips HUD Secretary Ben Carson
Ben Carson Confuses Foreclosure Term For Oreo Cookies At Hearing
Rep. Maxine Waters, D- Calif., who chairs the House Financial Services Commit- tee, blasted Housing and Urban Development Secre- tary Ben Carson and claimed his "department is actively causing harm," Politico is reporting.
Her comments came Tues- day during Carson's appear- ance before Waters' panel.
Waters cited her concerns over Carson's plan to reduce rental assistance, his depart- ment's delays in disaster aid to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, and a proposal to block undocumented immigrants from subsidized housing.
Carson, asked about the proposal to ban undocu- mented immigrants from subsidized housing, replied: "We are following the law."
Waters called it a "cruel
Housing Secretary Ben Carson experienced some- what of a brain fart during an exchange with House Demo- crat Katie Porter in which he appeared to mix up the common foreclosure term “REO” with Oreo cookies.
The gaffe quickly went viral on social media on Tuesday, prompting Carson to offer to send a package of the chocolate-cream cookies to the congresswoman.
In the clip below, Porter, D-California, asks if Carson could explain disparities in REO rates.
Carson appears to not have heard her correctly: “An Oreo?,” he replies.
“No, not an Oreo,” Porter says. “An R-E-O.”
“Real estate?” he asks. REO refers to “real estate- owned properties,” which are typically homes owned by banks in foreclosure.
“What’s the O stand for?”

says Porter. “E-organization?” asks
Carson.
Carson later appeared
on Twitter to poke fun of his blunder, sharing a photo of himself holding a package of Oreos along with the caption: “OH, REO! Thanks, @Rep- KatiePorter. Enjoying a few post-hearing snacks. Sending some your way!”
Twitter user Brittany
Packnett responded to his post with: “I legit remember a time when Ben Carson was a hero in the black com- munity. He was on all the role model posters. In all the inspirational books. Hell- even Cuba Gooding, Jr. played him in a movie,” she wrote. “Imagine falling from a hero to an oppressive clown and thinking it’s funny. Shame.”
