    Celebrate Black History Month
Art Gallery At Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library
In addition to the public art display, the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library is pleased to feature a small art gallery, spon- sored by the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Library Foundation, featuring local African American artists.
First Exhibit Artist: Ladale Lloyd, February 1, 2019 - March 8, 2019 The first exhibit began February 1 and features photo-real portraits and landscapes of award-winning artist Ladale Lloyd. It is located in the front lobby and is open during hours of opera- tion, from February 1 to March 8. A reception for Mr. Lloyd will follow on Tuesday, March 5 at 6 p. m. and is funded by the Ada T. Payne Friends of the Urban Libraries. All are welcome to attend.
Chess Club At The Library

Frederick Douglass: A Portrayal

Join the library for a one man portrayal by Donald Dowridge of the life of one of America’s greatest icons, Frederick Dou- glass. Douglass played a vital part in the freedom of slaves as well as becoming an accomplished lecturer, author, and publisher and Mr. Dowridge brings him to life in this educational program.
Sankofa: A Black Heritage Celebration

Sankofa is an Akan symbol meaning "Go back and retrieve." This program will feature African drumming, dance, spoken word and a variety of other performances and presentations. Join us for this jubilant event.

Enter by March 4 for a chance to win prizes! Local artists of all ages are invited to submit fan art for a competition at the 1st An- nual Tampa Bay AfroCon. AfroCon is all about celebrating diverse comic book heroes. Tax Preparation At The Library
Several libraries host tax preparation services during tax sea- son. Unless listed otherwise, assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis in cooperation with volunteers from AARP and VITA.
