RAY WILLIAMS
MR. VIRGIL BENTLEY OLIVER BROOKS, JR.
Mr. Virgil Bentley Oliver Brooks, Jr., of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, February 9 at 2 p. m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street. Pastor Gregory Whaley offi- ciated. Interment followed in Gar- den of Memories Cemetery.
Mr. Virgil Bentley Oliver Brooks, Jr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “Scooter” and “Big Daddy,” was a native of Greensboro, NC, born to the late Deacon and Mrs. Virgil (Marneese) Brooks. Virgil was loved and ad- mired by all who knew him. Virgil was a well-respected, accomplished patriarch of his family.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Deacon Virgil Bentley Oliver Brooks, Sr.; mother, Marneese Elizabeth Brooks; brother, Mr. Robert Smoot, Jr.; sis- ter, Mrs. Frances Loyce Brooks Jen- nings; brothers-in-law, Mr. James Jennings, and Mr. Sol Nickerson; daughter-in-law, Valarie Gail John- son; and granddaughter, Yasmine Tyson.
Cherishing his loving memories are: his loving wife of 65 years, Olivia Levy Brooks; children, sons, Virgil Brooks, III (Valarie), Oliver Brooks (Evelyn), and daughter, Jan- ice Hagins (Isaac); sister, Margie Brooks Nickerson; grandchildren, Janice Ward (Eddie), Olivia Brooks, Lashawna Johnson, Danyell Tyson, Janelle Brooks, Janeka Bivens (Larry), Shayna Brooks, Virgil Hug- gins, Aiko Hagins, Victoria Collins (Xavier), Isaiah Hagins, and Kaleb Brooks; great grandchildren, Wilbert, Eddie, Essence, J’Kobi, Zemberiah, J’London, Makaio, J’Landis, Zaire, Asia, Zaniyah, Bent- ley, J’Landon, and J’Lyssicia; great- great grandchildren, Madison, and Eddie, Jr.; special nephew, Bentley Haley; and a great multitude of lov- ing nieces and nephews, family and friends.

MRS. BETTYE JEANETTE BODDEN GRAY
Mrs. Bettye Jeanette Bodden Gray of Tampa, FL, departed this life on Sunday, February 3, 2019. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, Feb 16, at 11 a.m. at Rivers of Life Church Min- istries, 301 Lakewood Dr., Bran- don, FL, where Curtis Swafford is Pastor. Pastor Aubrey Shines of Glory to Glory Ministries, will of- ficiate. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
She was a native of Tampa, FL, born the 5th of 7 children to the late James M., Sr. and Marina R. Bodden. Bettye received her early education at St. Peter Claver Catholic School then entered the Hillsborough County School Sys- tem and graduated from Middle- ton High School in 1960. Bettye worked at the Florida Food Stamp Office before returning to school to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She was a longtime volunteer and employee of the Cri- sis Center of Tampa Bay (now Grace Point). She later returned to work with the State at USF as an accountant and earned a second Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
In her youth she attended St. Peter Claver Catholic Church be- fore joining Greater Friendship M. B. Church, where she served faith- fully for many years. She later joined Glory to Glory Ministries, where she served as a Mother of the church until her demise. After retiring from USF she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, James, Jr., Robert, Sr., and Dolon Bodden; sister, Beverly Walker Monroe; and in-laws, Frank and Mary Gray.
Bettye is survived by: her lov- ing and devoted children, Terria Young (Robert), Frank Gray, Jr., Elder Gailry Bagley (Louis Sr.), Karen Garrett (Leonard) and McKinley Gray; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Rebelo, Jamarcus Gray (Kierra), Sadreal Robinson (Leon), Zandreal Smith (Taylor), Chad Bagley (Jasmine), Louis Bagley, II, Tori Bagley, and McKinley Gray; 14 great-grand- children, Antonio, Ariana and Lu- ciani Rebelo, Alonzo, Jordaan, and Jaiden Gray, Zah-Ryiah Brown, Tahj Smith, Lauryn Robin- son, Amora and Aliyah Bagley, Jalissa Florez, Sariyah, and Ziya Gray; 3 siblings, Joseph Bodden (Maxine), Harriette Harris, and Marina Pilcher (Ronnie); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, ex- tended family, friends, longtime neighbors of Northview Hills, for- mer husband, Elder Frank Gray, Sr., and constant companion, her dog Spotty.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. on Friday, Feb. 15, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Ave. Friends are asked to assemble at the church at approx- imately 10:45 on Saturday morn- ing.

MRS. ALICE MAE FLOWERS
Mrs. Alice Mae Flowers, of Springhill, FL, passed away Mon- day, February 11, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted Satur- day, February 16, at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. Dr. Kevin Dennie will be the eulogist and officiant.
Interment will be held Mon- day, February 18 at 10:30 a. m. at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mrs. Flowers was born and raised in Eufaula, Alabama. She attended the public schools of Barbour County, AL, and after graduating, she moved to Tampa in 1944. Here in Tampa, she met and married her husband, Mr. Charlie Bob Flowers. To their union four daughters were born. Mr. and Mrs. Flowers were mar- ried for 55 years.
Mrs. Flowers made rearing, caring and nurturing her family her life’s calling and work. The family was truly blessed by her loving, yet stern hands. Together, she and Mr. Flowers made a won- derful Christian home for their daughters.
Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by: her mother, Alice Mae Prim; her sister, Eula Mae Brown and her dear husband, Charlie Bob Flowers.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: her four loving daughters, Loretta Flowers, Carolyn Flowers Dix (James, III), Twila Flowers Pet- tina (Anthony) and Judy Flowers; 26 grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren; and a host of lov- ing family and friends.
The visitation for Mrs. Alice Flowers will begin at 9 a. m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral chapel.

MS. ELLA FAYE ROLLE
Ms. Ella Faye Rolle of Tampa, passed away Monday, Febru- ary 11, 2019. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, Feb- ruary16at2p.m.atRay Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL.
Ms. Ella Faye Rolle was a na- tive and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was edu- cated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and fur- thered her education by earning an Associate’s Degree in Psychol- ogy. Ella realized her passion and calling to work with chil- dren, so she worked with the Hillsborough County School Sys- tem. She also worked to help the elderly and disabled in the Healthcare field as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. Ella was truly loved very much by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Sybil Powell (Rolle); father, Alex Kil- patrick; brother, Alvin Rolle; grandmother, Olga Gomez; and uncle, Origin Gomez.
Leaving to mourn her mem- ory are: her daughters, Sybil Moore and partner, Tony Aguiar, Bianca Moore and partner Rossanne Comrie-Riley and Rachel Moore and fiancé An- drace Jones; her three grand- children, Aidan, Demetrian and Noelle; her siblings, Thomas Rolle, George Rolle, Olga Rolle, Janice Brown and husband, James Brown, Alonda Hill and Kenneth Rolle; and a host of nieces and nephews and family in the Bahamas. A special ac- knowledgement to Elease Moore, Robert Moore and the entire Moore family.

         MR. ISHMAEL K. PERKINS
Mr. Ishmael K. Perkins of Tampa, passed away unexpect- edly on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the tender age of 22. A Celebration of Life Service for Ishmael K. Perkins will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 2 p. m., at New Hope Missionary Bap- tist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St., Tampa, Florida, 33610, with Min- ister Bruce Bryant, officiating. Interment will be held Monday, February 18 at 11 a. m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Ishmael was a native of Tampa, Florida, born to Kim L. Perkins and Vicky L Perkins. He was a 2015 graduate of Paul R. Wharton High School. At Whar- ton High School, Ishmael was an Honor Roll student, Team Man- ager for the Men’s Basketball Team and a member of the school band for 4 years. Ishmael is a student at the University of Tampa and will be a graduating senior. Ishmael’s family will proudly accept his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Man- agement at the May Graduation Ceremony. Also, during the past four years, Ishmael has been a dedicated Team Manager for the UT Spartans Men’s Basketball Team.
Ishmael loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed travel- ing, attending sporting and recreational events and spending time with all of his family mem- bers. Ishmael was an inspiration to others and touched many lives. He had a reputation of set- ting goals and looked forward to accomplishing them.
To cherish his legacy and memories, Ishmael leaves: his parents, Kim L. Perkins, Vicky L. Perkins; his devoted sister, Mayah L. Perkins; and a host of family members and friends. Special thanks to Lorita High- tower, friend and his personal assistant.
The visitation will be held from 5-8 p. m. Friday, February 15th at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
