Community Activist Plans Annual Fundraiser
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Several years ago, Ho- race Drew became a com- munity activist. His focus then was helping teenagers make positive choices.
And, his mission has not changed. East year, Drew hosts a fundraiser that will enable him to expose teenagers to things they may never get to see. Last year, he took approximately 40 teenagers to visit college

campuses in Atlanta. However, to make these
trips become a reality, he hosts a fundraiser once a year. This year, the Rays Of Hope Community Outreach Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, February 23rd, beginning at 6 p.m.
It will be held at the Fort Harrison Hotel, 210 S. Fort Harrison Avenue, in Clear- water.
This year, he is planning to take approximately 50 teenagers on a trip to Washington, D. C. “This will give some of them a chance to see cultural things that they may never get to see. I want to expose them to different things. But I’m calling on my friends and members of the community to help me make this trip a reality. I’m inviting everyone to come out and attend the fundraiser.”
The event will be hosted by Tampa Bay Tammy, Keynote Speaker Tre Wat- son, of the University of Maryland, and Guest Speaker Ray Ray Mc- Cloud, of the Buffalo Bills.
The trip will take place June 9th through June 15th. Both young ladies and young men in grades 8 to 12 will make the journey.
Drew can be reached at (813) 531-5636 for addi- tional information or infor- mation can be obtained by visiting the website at www.raysofhopeoutreach.c om. (SEE ADVERTISE- MENT IN THIS ISSUE).
